We were somewhat disconcerted upon arrival as the reception area is also the bar. The room was in a mess when we arrived at 4.00p.m. having been given the key to climb up some severely steep steps to get to it on the second floor. We were given this economy room as, at time of booking, it was the only... More

We stayed 2 nights. First night put in small double. Very hot room with no air. Window opened about an inch. Generator running outside window all night. Very uncomfortable bed. Asked to be moved for second night and given a lovely bright larger airy room at front. So if your not happy then say. Breakfast on second morning was dreadful.... More

Popped in for for a lunch time meal . The decor was quite relaxing . The menu was good . The staff were very good , welcoming and pleasant . The food arrived hot and was tasty . I was a little disappointed that my mashed potato was not real mash . Reasonable meal at a reasonable price .

The Wellington was our first restaurant we tried when moving to Wales some years ago. We always enjoyed the restaurant due to its rustic style and down to earth food. Staff were always friendly and attentive. Hotel not used so can only revue the restaurant which is open to all non residential which is useful. So if a basic well... More

I hadn’t read the previous reviews before my wife and I visited the Wellington. Bad Mistake. You will note that I very rarely rate a place “poor”. In fact this experience reminded me directly of my last “poor” rating two and a half years ago in a similar pub (in New Zealand). A quiet evening in Brecon seemed to mean... More

Right in the centre of the town, so great for shopping. Limited parking right outside, but a reduced fee is available at a car park not too far away. The hotel is a busy, popular place to eat and drink and the menu and food looked good. We were staying for a wedding at a location nearby, so we didn't... More

This is the second visit for lunch at The Wellington, once on a Sunday and this time mid week and again the food has been excellent and also the service. Staff friendly and helpful, will definitely be trying out their weekday evening deals now.

£75 a double room (on an offer) and you will get an old fashion styled, poor service, awfully decorated bedroom, with cracks in the walls and wall paper peeling off! Lots of stairs. At the breakfast the toaster was broken and the coffee toke forever to be ready. Smell bad and there is a slot machine in the dining area,... More

I wish I had checked this Hotel out on tripadvisor before I booked. We paid £100 per night for B/B this cost made me think it was going to be very good. This was not the case firstly we found it was in the center of town this was good, but no parking facility. We had to take the car... More
