I was very pleased with my stay at Gro Guest house. Breakfast was lovely, location is nice and only short distance from a shops. Also hotel is dog friendly as this was very important to me as I was travelling with a dog. There is land around hotel to walk dog. Very friendly staff. I would stay there again!

We stayed at the Gro last week during our charity bike ride for the Red Cross. We had a lovely stay, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Had a good breakfast to see us on our way! Would defo recommend as excellent value for money :) very pretty grounds.

Seeing the messy front yard, cluttered entryway with tools and miscellaneous items strewn about made us think "big mistake". The room once reached down a long narrow hall was large contained all the necessities and very clean. The bathroom had signs of mold in the shower area, the windows could do with a cleaning and to top it off the... More

I went to have a look at the Gro guest house as I needed somewhere to stay march 2012 the night before my wedding.. The owner Mick was lovely.. He let us have 2 rooms for the night.. one to sleep in and the other to get ready in.. The rooms are lovely and big.. although slightly old fashioned furniture... More

I stayed at this B&B while working nearby on many occasions over the last 2 years. It is a first rate place to stay with large rooms full of character, great breakfasts and it is fantastic value. Mick and his wife are lovely people and I have happy memories of this my nights at The Gro.

Booked this very last minute for one of our engineers to stay as a job had overrun. Very friendly and helpful on phone and engineer said that they were very good with him when he arrived, nothing was too much trouble, comfortable bed and good breakfast. Ben is not easy to please so if he said this it must have... More

We have just stayed at The Gro for one night during our recent cycle trip on Route 81 (Lon Cambria) and received the warmest and friendliest of welcomes from Mick and his wife when we arrived soaking wet and tired. What a gentleman! The bedroom was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed and the most wonderful deep roll... More

We stayed in ther Gro Guest House for one sleepless night at the end of June. The house has a musty damp smell when you go in directly to the dining area. Our room (no.4) was a twin en-sutie. Upon pulling back the duvet cover 2 small black insects scurried accros the white sheet towards the headboard. The room was... More

I am rather disappointed you did not speak to either my wife or myself regarding your stay, as you can see from ALL the other reviews we are both very approachable regarding our guests stay. Iread with interest your comments regarding our guest house(as I did all your notes left in the rooms) You stated that ther was a damp... More

Stayed for a couple of nights. We had a very large room, that was really nice. The highlight was of course Mick's breakfast. So great old house, Too much to eat, and Mick's welcome; what more could you ask for.
