stayed in at the olde anchor for weekend break, rooms clean, food good. rooms small but comfortable visited Ruthin town, staff friendly hotel on main road but able to park across the road with no problems. outside looks dated but clean inside,

A friendly enough welcome but the moment you walk through the door, you feel your spirits drop. The corridor is narrow and dark and the stairway to the rooms upstairs has a dirty carpet. I arrived after spending two days hill walking, with a full back pack and feeling the worse for wear. I turned up without making a prior booking, after being sent there by another b & b that was fully booked. On arrival I was given room 25. This turned out to be spotless clean and fresh. Fortunately we only stayed one night. Parking was awful - couldn't even get into carpark it was so full. The pub was 'ok' but once in the corridor to the rooms it was horrible.
