Stayed here will walking Offa's Dyke (north to south) and arrived in a downpour. Great that you enter first into a large conservatory with hooks everywhere on which Elinore recommends you hang your wet gear. A 'motherly' welcome - no standing on ceremony here. She made us welcome with tea and home made cakes (Offa's Dyke B&Bs are THE best... More

Oh dear - the 11th B&B out of 12 on the walk and our first bad experience. I am afraid that Elinore needs to learn to listen to what her guests tell her rather than talk through them, She seems to think that most walkers are stupid and exaggerates the difficulty of the walk ahead of them. At breakfast she... More

Despite John and Elinore just recovering from an illness they made us both very welcome. As mentioned by previous visitors there was an awfull lot of clutter and a smell of dogs but the free lift and collection to and from the "local" for and evening meal was much appreciated in the pouring rain.Strangely we had one of the most beautifully... After a long day's walk at Offa's Dyke Path it was a superb experience for me and my wife to walk into the small village of Llandegla and end up with Elinore and John in Hand House. We were immediately put down before the fire and was brought tea and scones. The house, and our bedroom with views to the... More

The bad points: The "fresh fruit" for breakfast had seen better days. The most expensive and overfilled pack lunch of the trip. I threw half of mine away. The rooms have way too much clutter in them, meaning I was worried I'd lose something. They also suffered from having a funny smell. Possibly a mix of dog, smoke and lack... More

During our hike along Offa's Dyke we booked one night in this great B and B with original oak beams etc. I liked the "homely" ambience but others may find it a bit too full of pillows and photos etc. You are welcomed with tea/coffee and delicious homemade Scones/cakes/jam etc.The bathroom is fully supplied with bubble bath and Radox to...
