Very comfortable room, good food and attentive staff....Large breakfast! ~No Lift, so ask for a ground floor room if you don't like staggering upstairs after the enormous breakfast! Private Car park and lovely walks by the river just at the end of the garden....Who could ask for more!

I stayed here recently as tour manager with a group of American garden lovers, and on the first night one of the ladies in the party surprised me with a hug, saying 'Thank you so much for bringing us here'! The beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, good food and friendly staff all combined to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. Although... More

My tour group stayed at this in for three nights. The hotel lacks a lift--but that is the only thing it lacks! The first thing to recommend it is its quiet setting on the banks of the river, at the end of a long narrow lane. The Tudor style of decoration (not real Tudor, alas) is also appealing. Inside the... Hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, with lovely picturesque views of the countryside. The room we had was excellent with a balcony overlooking the river. The bed was huge and very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space in the room. Only downside was the bath which was quite narrow but as we only needed the shower this didn't... More

The most wonderful view from the large balcony of the main bedroom in our family suite. Big main bedroom which was tastefully fitted with a good second bedroom for the children. Rooms were spotless. Very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable bed. Very helpful staff, book in was very easy. Just one bathroom/toilet which lacked a decent shower. The restaurant is charming... More

Lovely hotel with nice grounds and very attentive, professional staff. Andrew, Mostyn and Hannah were superb, friendly hosts and the afternoon tea they served was superb! Be warned, it's very filling- would highly recommend on a sunny day when you can sit by the river and enjoy the delicious scones. Our room was spacious with a nice view of the... More

This hotel baffled me. Nice location, right on the river with lovely flowers and meadows. They have a hard working staff that was pleasant and helpful and always accommodating. The room was large and clean and had been updated but the bed could have been more comfortable. The room had what you needed but lacked "charm". My biggest issue was... More

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly & welcoming. We had a superior room with riverside view which was a good size and spotlessly clean. We ate in the hotel restaurant on two nights and really enjoyed the excellent food. The only downside was the shower in our... More

We booked a couple of nights at this hotel as a last minute extension to our Honeymoon and it turned out to be the highlight of the trip. We were there with our two dogs who were made very welcome and enjoyed making friends with some of the other dogs who were also staying. The hotel has lovely gardens (where... More

On March 5, 2014, I booked a room at Craig-y-Dderwen for May 19, 2014. I was charged £80 deposit. Due to unforeseen circumstances and change in itinerary, I cancelled the reservation on March 11, 2014...over 2 months before the reservation. The hotel's cancellation policy states I will be responsible for the full room rate if the room cannot be "re-let"... More

Though we will always try to make our customers happy, sometimes we have to consider the fact we are a business that has to cover it's costs so we are still here for our customers to enjoy. Unfortunately Mrs W forgot to mention in her review any of the following points. 1) Mrs W read & agreed all of the... More
