Actually stayed 3 nights in the 'Stables Lodge' accommodation, with breakfast in Hotel. Also had friends join us for an evening meal in the hotel and the used the Hotels adjoining 'Stables' pub! So over three days met many of the staff and everyone was really friendly, cheerful and helpful. Room and food (in both hotel & pub) all excellent.... More

Stayed at this hotel for one night during a group tour of North Wales on motorbikes. Good off-road parking, decent food eaten outside in the covered area, hot breakfast and enough scenic walks to keep you happy for an afternoon. Room was adequate though there was a noisy conditioning unit outside our window - it did not bother us too... More

We recently stayed at the Royal Oak Hotel with a group, which we took for a 3 day trip visiting North Wales. The Hotel was fantastic, all the people who work there are very helpful and professional. The evening meals we had were very very good as was the Restaurant and the waiters, 1st class. People loved it so much... More

We had originally planned to eat at another restaurant in Betws- y-coed but due to it being full we called in at the Royal Oak on the off chance and we are so glad we did! We ate at the River restaurant and the 3 course menu was delicious-especially the trio of lamb which was absolutely wonderful. It cost £25... More

Travelled to this lovely town 20 years before, loved it then, love it now. This was my second stay at the Royal Oak. It has improved greatly in twenty years. This hotel has been around since the seventeen century, it has been updated with some sensitivity towards it history. If you want modern boutique slickness, stay elsewhere. The floors here... More

We stayed, once again, for a 2 night break. We have always found the staff to be pleasant, helpful, friendly and well informed, and we were not disappointed. There is not anything that is too much trouble for any member of staff. The rooms are well worth the upgrades. The hotel itself serves excellent food ranging from snacks, bar meals,... More

We went to the Royal Oak's Llugwy River Restaurant on the last day of our stay in Wales. We all choose meals from the Lite Bite menu. All meals were amazing and if they were 'lite'the regular size meals must be enormous. I also had the loveliest green tea ever. Going back to Wales next week and will certainly be... More

We stayed 3 nights here with a Road Scholar tour group. Very comfortable, large rooms with clean, new bathrooms. Scenic village that gets nice and quiet at night. We ate breakfasts and dinners at their nice restaurant on three days. Food was excellent with main dishes ranging from trout or salmon to pork or beef . Desserts were delicious including... More

Absolutely love the food here. It's always first class. Found it by accident and have come back twice on recent visits to North Wales. The service is also always tip top and friendly. Check out the chefs photography on display in the conservatory! Lovely place to eat. I've never stayed here.
