I've been a few times but last time was about 5 years ago and it's as beautiful as I remember, there's not many site set in a forest with so much space between pitches, the staff are really friendly and the shop has everything needed, I was on a premium pitch with electric on the far side so I didn't... We have just visited this site for a week 24th Aug - 31st Aug, 2 Adults and 2 Children. Cant understand some of the reviews to a point we were a little apprehensive. However - there are toilet blocks, never female/male had to queue, and always had toilet paper. Most guests here will have walking boots or wellies and the... More

Our camping trip started on the 31st July. Me and my girlfriend planned a three night stay in a two man tent. When we arrived the staff were very helpful and friendly giving us a map advising where we could camp and where we couldn't. After driving round the very crowded campsite we found a couple of different spots which... More

We came to stay here for a week and firsts impressions were good, staff were friendly and the information room we popped into before booking in was really informative. Unfortunately that's where our positive views ended for this campsite. We were told where to pitch our tent and that was about it, the rest was basically down to us so... More

First off, I really dislike camping! Those restless nights, cold mornings and there's always at least 1 'professional camper' pitched nearby with their everything but the kitchen sink tent! That said the family really wanted to go so I thought ahh well! So from the experience of a tent hater I thought 'as camp sites go this one seemed excellent!'... More

We stayed for 3 nights and were on a hardstanding pitch which wasn't properly explained to us and we needed to purchase 'rock pegs' to pitch the tent on the slate. Being under the trees it was very damp, even on sunny and dry days. The shade also seemed to attract swarms of flies and wasps which made cooking and... More

During my visit i was extremely lucky with the weather, didn't rain at all! Although it was obvious that it had rained the day before we arrived as the grass pitching area was extremely boggy. Camping by the river meant we were constantly under attack from gnats, especially when cooking. The camp shop did sell candles that helped reduce the... More

Hhome a day early because of the weather read reviews about this site, some good, some bad. Some of our party arrived a few days earlier, shown were to camp, next day told to move as in wrong place, told the spaces had already been allocated, so they moved not very happy but not far. We arrived, when booked asked... More

We have been coming here for years first with the kids and friends now just as a cpl. Its a forestry commision site and as expected is not high end luxury camping (glamping) . The facilities, showers toilets etc are adequate but a bit dated. They close them for about an hour in sequence during the day to clean them... More
