Arrived at 1 am and was pleasantly surprised that the owner was there to meet me.He mentioned he had to be up again 5 hours later. He must get no sleep! I had no objection to him wearing a bathrobe as it was unsociable hours. Notice a previous review torn into him for that! Slept really well and woken to... More

Thanks tfor such kind comments. I must admit that my confidence was knocked back recently following other comments. Some very unfair. Ferries operate at all hours and I have to tolerate broken sleep during busy periods. I have bought a pair of slippers now! Glad you enjoyed the trip of the South Stack and local interests. More

I immediately liked Holyhead and this B&B is only a 5 minute drive from the ferry terminal, in a quiet parking friendly street, and there was a good restaurant we could walk to The owner was amiable and easy-going and seemed slightly troubled at the same time. I think he has many interests & pursuits other than running his guest... More

Not sure if I should laugh or cry at some of the comments. I always try and make all guests comfortable with years of experience in this trade. To remark that I was "troubled" concerns me. Maybe it was because it was at the time I had just had my 14 year old dog put to sleep We regularly have... More

Had a lovely weekend break at the Wavecrest. Very friendly owner who advised us on all the attractions in the area. Room was lovely and clean but found it strange that the shower was in the room so obviously had no privacy. On the whole superb setting and location and wouldnt hesitate to return.

Stayed here for three nights. The room was nice and clean. The staff were very nice. Breakfast was very good. The location is on a quiet street yet waling distance to the center of town the ferry terminal and the train station. The Maritime museum is a two minute walk as is the waterfront. Overall a very pleasant stay.

The manager was very nice made us breakfast in the morning. Few strange things about the room. There was poo in the toilet on arrival, (Im sure this doesn't always happen) and strangely the shower is in the room so no privacy! So basically the beds are right next to the shower although it did have frosted glass! The top... More

Thank you for your comments. I have checked the toliet (for faults) and I am assuming that another Guest sneaked in there before your arrival and did not flush the toilet correctly. This has happened once before. The large family room is designed for families with children and is not suitable for several adults sharing a room on a budget.... More

Arrived by ferry from Dublin kind of late and Carl greeted us with sunny disposition. Our bath, although exclusive, was out of the room but just a few steps away. Not exactly a issue. The whole building, squickly clean and located a few hundred meters from the shore, provided us, despite the chilly weather (it was june 27th), a very... More

Changed plans meant we needed pet friendly accommodation at 7:30pm. Wavecrest to the rescue. Good sized room with TV & tea/coffee facilities. No en-suite bathroom but sole use of one, very hot water & good shower. As previously commented on, owner cannot cater for all guests expecting breakfast at same time so given time slots to assist. Just negotiate on... More

As an American student in UK, decided to break my journey from Ireland by staying in Holyhead,When the taxi driver in Dublin asked where I was staying,he replied "what you going there for, there is nothing there!" I was a little worried by his remarks. Well if I see him again I will tell him that the scenery is as good... More

Like most folk staying here, we were getting the ferry the following day. The guesthouse is spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. Shared bathrooms though, which didn't cause any difficulties it must be said. The guesthouse is a two minute walk to the sea, and there's a small harbour at the bottom of the road where the local kids... More

Very nice and friendly host, getting up so early to make me a breakfast so that I could catch the first ferry. Really feeling at home. Just next door to the sea! Had a lovely walk there in that afternoon.
