A good stopping point on my way to Dublin. Easy walk to ferry and town centre.Took a stroll down to yaht Marina and had a meal in the club. Breakfast was excellent and the home made savoury patties on the breakfast were delicous. Owner helpful with a list of recomended places to eat . Reasonably priced as well.

The first thing you notice when you arrive is how much this place seems like a time capsule. Memorabilia from the days of BR, including station signs, pictures and even a headboard and nameplate ensure that those with an interest in trains should put this as their first priority for Holyhead. It is within walking distance of many pubs and... More

Thanks for your comments. So glad you appreciated some of the railwayana on display. Not everyone loves them however it would be boring if every place and person were the same! Hope you had a safe onward journey More

I have just phoned the Wavecrest to book a room for a night in November, for myself and two dogs before catching the ferry [the wife flies!], and spoke to Carl the proprietor who was as friendly and professional as ever. I've not stayed there for about three years but was greeted like an old friend. I have stayed for... More

Thank you for your supportive comments. It is sometimes very frustrating when I often go out of my way to help people to later find a poor review on here. Still it's part of the game and no hard feelings. It's nice to know there are many decent people out there and I welcome them with open arms! Look forward to... More

We stayed one night ( 20th June 2015). I think the comments by one person were extremely harsh. I was eating my lovely full english breakfast when this person was eating her boiled egg and both members of staff offered to cook another egg for this person. We were very happy with our accomodation, the place was very clean and... More

Thank you for your lovely comments. The previous review is the first serious complaint I have received in 28 years of the standard of cooked breakfast. I take pride in local produce and variation of breakfast. My staff were extremely upset of the comments on running the establishment. They were smoking outside (designated area) on completion of breakfasts and complying... More

i stayed in this accommodation 19th to the 21st June 2015, for my 2 day coastal walk section. I am in a walking group and we travel near and far doing walks. I've always been exceptionally pleased with my B and B accommodations, until this last one! Wavecrest B and B, definitely didn't tick any boxes, in fact staying there... More

As you were probably aware that I was away for the Weekend. You booked a double room directly on-line hence the price. I have spoken to staff and they mentioned that you borrowed a cigarette off them too. The staff were smoking outdoors in their break which they are entitled to. The establishment is non- smoking and all staff respect... More

A very busy B & B geared for the Ferry traveller. Unpretentious yet ideal for a one nighter, Comfortable beds in a peaceful location and easy walking distance for the Ferry . All rooms have adequate facilities and even the 2 non-ensuite rooms have a bathroom each. There are some stairs to negotiate but that burns off the calories from... More

Thank you for an accurate review. The majority of Guests are in transit therefore I cater for their needs.. I notice that I had a previous comment for the property being old. I would love to stay in an even older property. Maybe a 16th Century cottage or a traditional Venetian residence. Hope you had a good onward journey and... More

Stayed here recently while in transit to London and Would just say that Whilst the Owner is pleasant this House is very Old and Old fashioned . (The bed and Bed Room was very clean but small) .The Breakfast (served in a very tiny dining room where you had to keep moving your chair to let other guest move )... More

Thank you for your comments. I know the property is a classic Victorian house however it is kept in prime condition. I have spent a lot of money on refurnishments of late. Many Guests praise it is full of character from the modern type establishments.. Holyhead is a busy Ferry Port and demand is high from April until November. If... More

Very friendly owner greeted us upon arrival and helped us carry up our bags. This is a quaint, Victorian style B & B in Holyhead close to the ferry and train terminal we used to get to London from Dublin. Carl generously gave us a personal tour of the island the next day, including South Stack bird sanctuary and lighthouse... More

This is a large house, which like its neighbours, has been converted for use as a B&B. That necessarily imposes limitations. There are lots of stairs to negotiate and shared bathrooms on different floors. It is clean enough, reasonably well maintained and decorated in keeping with the proprietor's passion for transport, particularly steam engines. If you are travelling by car,... More
