We were stranded in Holyhead after a late train made us miss our ferry to Dublin. We found Holyhead Lodge and were delighted by Mel and Pearl's warm welcome. Like coming to a friend or relative's house more than a b&b. Here are the highlights: private, cozy, comfortable room - lovely beds with cozy bedding nice touches like tea and... More

We stayed with Pearl & Mel last week. They couldn't be more accommodating. Upon arrival, they made us cups of tea and helped show us the area. Along with running us to a local supermarket for supplies. We've never had such a warm welcome from anywhere we have stayed before. The room was lovely and well thought out. They respected... More

We stayed here after our ride on the ferry. Pearl welcomed us with tea, and gave us a wonderful overview of the area, its history, and the Welsh language. We had a most restful night, and an excellent breakfast. Mel and Pearl then drove us to a Tesco, helped us navigate around the store to find the right SIM cards,... More

Although small our apartment was well thought out, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent, and we also ordered a packed lunch which kept us going for the rest of the day. Mel and Pearl were welcoming, friendly and helpful...

Owner collected us at the ferry, showed us around town and recommended restaurants, then installed us in a compact twin room with every facility we could want. Breakfast was superb, plenty of great food, local whenever possible. Sorted a couple of problems with charm and grace, and made our stay in Holyhead and indeed Wales unforgettable. I would recommend anyone... More

After three weeks of travelling, we wanted nothing more than to relax without anyone disturbing us. We found the lodge owners to be more than accommodating. We arrived on the 0200 hours on the ferry from Dublin, they offered to collect us. Something most hotels would not even consider. A lovely room and very private off the main road, with... More

We choose Holyhead lodge for its proximity to the port as we were returning from a cycle holiday in Ireland. We were attracted to use Hollyhead lodge as the owner was prepared to meet the late ferry and take us to the accomodation should we have needed it. The owners were very friendly but the cost of the room was... More

What a wonderful place to stay. Lovely couple who run this place. Even offered to pick us up from ferry and take us back to train station next day. Accomodation very nice and very clean and up to date. Breakfast EXCELLENT. You have cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt and then your choice of fried welsh breakfast. Yummy. The hostess even looked... More
