I could not believe how amazing this campsite is! We knew we were arriving late from the Ireland ferry and we were given a lovely pitch where our late arrival would not disturb others. Staff were absolutely lovely- really friendly and good-natured. Wash facilities were spotless! Shower was deliciously hot and the loos were immaculate. The lovely atmosphere rubs off... More

I found this place last year and camped with my 2 daughters and loved it. This year, I suggested it as the venue for our annual weekend away with 2 other families; one party hates camping, I love it - and the other party needed to get away handy so fancied a B & B. They all agreed, booked it... More

Just returned from a week here. Lovely quiet site. Great views. Clean shower block. And a special mention to Kate on reception. Nice to be greeted by a friendly face. She showed us to our pitch and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. Definitely 5 stars.

Located less than 10mins from the ferry port, we found this an excellent stop over location. We stayed for one night's B&B and the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. In the morning we took a quick spin over to see the lighthouse and headland before heading off to catch our 10:30am ferry. I would... More

We camped here for a week late July 2014. I had sent e-mail enquires which were replied to within 24 hours. When I rang the staff were very helpful. When we arrived we booked in and then we were left to choose where we wanted to pitch our tents. The field does have some slopes but we found a flat... More

We camped here for one night having seen the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed-The views from the site are amazing, there was many occasion where we paused just to take in the view from our tent. We found the location to be excellent, close to coves, beaches, castles and towns. This was by far the cleanest campsite... More

At Blackthorn Farm you have the service of a hotel combined with the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of a b&b. Set in the quietest of coastal spots, it offers a real haven of peace and quiet yet is just a five minute drive from Holyhead. I loved it and wanted to stay longer.

We booked a one night stay here with our dog. We were delayed in bad traffic on way to Holyhead and didnt arrive at Blackthorn Farm until just before 8pm. We had phoned to say we were delayed and Richard said they were happy to keep food back for us as the kitchen closed at 8. When we arrived Richard... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Blackthorn Farm is a family run Bed & Breakfast and campsite. Set in 18 acres of outstanding beauty, Blackthorn Farm has stunning views for everyone, whether you are camping or staying as guests in one of our eight Bed and Breakfast rooms. If you prefer to stay in self catering accommodation, we have a number of options available to you, both on site and in the Trearddur Bay area. We are within walking distance of one of the two Blue Flag beaches Trearddur Bay has to offer, and there are a multitude of coves, rock pools and smaller beaches all along the coastal road that leads in to Trearddur Bay, which is less than two and a half miles long. We are licensed to sell alcohol and we are no more than ten minutes drive away from several popular restaurants and pubs while maintaining the quietness one would expect from a much more rural location. The area itself is popular with people with all sorts of hobbies, from water sports to horse riding to bird watching and has lots of wonderful, well mapped walks to explore. ... more   less
