At Blackthorn Farm you have the service of a hotel combined with the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of a b&b. Set in the quietest of coastal spots, it offers a real haven of peace and quiet yet is just a five minute drive from Holyhead. I loved it and wanted to stay longer.

We booked a one night stay here with our dog. We were delayed in bad traffic on way to Holyhead and didnt arrive at Blackthorn Farm until just before 8pm. We had phoned to say we were delayed and Richard said they were happy to keep food back for us as the kitchen closed at 8. When we arrived Richard... More

We camped here before catching a ferry. The owner, Richard was incredibly friendly. We arrived after they had stopped serving meals but it was no trouble to cook us a meal of our choice. All of the staff were very friendly. The shower block was clean.and all enhanced by stunning views of Snowdonia across the water. I would certainly recommend... More

We stayed in the family room for 3 nights with our two adult children. The beds were comfortable except for my son who is 6' 5" . He found the foot board on the single bed a bit annoying. Not a problem unless you are over 6 feet! Breakfast fantastic. Friday evening fish and chips top notch. All staff extremely... More

Thank you so much for the lovely comments, it's always lovely to hear that guests have enjoyed staying with us. I'm glad you liked the selection of items available on our little shop - this year we have tried hard to stock as much local produce as possible, along side everyday chocolate bars and ice creams. It's always a pleasure... More

My wife and I stayed here along with my parents and younger brother for 2 nights. Two nights was not enough time here as there is so much to do if you are the outdoorsy type and like exercise. Richard was very helpful and readily available to help us make the best of our time in Holyhead. Both rooms that... More

I'm really glad you got to experience so much of Anglesey - we love the island and think there is a wealth of activities here. We love being able to send our guests off to do exciting things and have links with lots of the people running the activities you mentioned. Thank you very much for your kind comments -... More

We were wowed from the moment we arrived. The location and views were amazing. The hospitality and service were second to none. The room was clean and modern with fantastic little touches. Very dog friendly which is important to us. Great fish and chip supper served on a Friday, great choice of breakfast in the morning. I honestly can't rate... More

Saying that, I presume it was a dog ... and not a ghost! So we stayed 2 nights in the Family Room, we have stayed before, so clearly liked it. It a big room, very clean, great views. Fantastic location a well, especially since my husband likes his birds - South Stack is almost on the doorstep. So..this dog. Dog... More

I'm very disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your stay with us as much as your previous one. I'm sorry you feel put off by the dog in the room next to you - as you say, we are a dog friendly B&B, but we try to cater to those with allergies like yourself by keeping two dog free rooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Blackthorn Farm is a family run Bed & Breakfast and campsite. Set in 18 acres of outstanding beauty, Blackthorn Farm has stunning views for everyone, whether you are camping or staying as guests in one of our eight Bed and Breakfast rooms. If you prefer to stay in self catering accommodation, we have a number of options available to you, both on site and in the Trearddur Bay area. We are within walking distance of one of the two Blue Flag beaches Trearddur Bay has to offer, and there are a multitude of coves, rock pools and smaller beaches all along the coastal road that leads in to Trearddur Bay, which is less than two and a half miles long. We are licensed to sell alcohol and we are no more than ten minutes drive away from several popular restaurants and pubs while maintaining the quietness one would expect from a much more rural location. The area itself is popular with people with all sorts of hobbies, from water sports to horse riding to bird watching and has lots of wonderful, well mapped walks to explore. ... more   less
