Wow! this place is a true gem. When my partner first shared several links for me to peruse for my birthday trip, I didn't originally feel pulled to Blackthorn as one of the sites had photos that truly don't do this lovely b&b justice. On arrival we were instantly greeted by warm smiles and welcomes, and when we told the... More

We received a very friendly welcome from Richard, who made our stay feel like being home from home. Nothing was too much trouble for him and there are lots of little touches that make all the difference from the run of the mill B&B. We stayed in the Treaddur View room, which was excellent. The breakfasts were well prepared and... More

Richard gave a choice of rooms, and we chose treaddur view, it was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, and lots of extra little touches. we will... More

After a wonderful stay in January 2013 where Richard went way above anything we could have expected in his efforts to look after all of us crazy runners in the snowy conditions, it was great to come back this year. Both of the rooms we stayed in were lovely, the welcome was fantastic and the food was exactly what was... More

We stayed for 3 nights this weekend and absolutely loved this B&B, our room was lovely and cosy and filled with little extras like biscuits and bottled water which was great. The house was immaculate and had a lovely feel which flowed throughout and the breakfast was fantastic. Richard was really friendly and even though we were the only people... More

This is a nice B & B. Very clean, friendly and accommodating owners. About 5 minutes drive to Holyhead and has wonderful coastal views. The weather was bad when we stayed but the owners allowed us to order a takeaway to be delivered in and use the dining room, crockery etc which we thought was a nice extra touch. Breakfast... More

We spent one night before taking the ferry to return back to Ireland. We stayed in Seagull cottage. Richard was very welcoming. Breakfast the following morning was excellent. The cottage is ideal for four people. We borrowed DVDs from Richard. Chinese and Indian take-away restaurants deliver to the cottage, but the vllage is only a few miles away. Hope to... More

We just spent two nights at Blackthorn Farm and couldn't be happier. We were greeted with a warm cup of tea by Heather and Richard and Nigel were so kind. Wholeheartedly recommend. Thérèse & Karl from Australia.

Blackthorn Farm is a family run Bed & Breakfast and campsite. Set in 18 acres of outstanding beauty, Blackthorn Farm has stunning views for everyone, whether you are camping or staying as guests in one of our eight Bed and Breakfast rooms. If you prefer to stay in self catering accommodation, we have a number of options available to you, both on site and in the Trearddur Bay area. We are within walking distance of one of the two Blue Flag beaches Trearddur Bay has to offer, and there are a multitude of coves, rock pools and smaller beaches all along the coastal road that leads in to Trearddur Bay, which is less than two and a half miles long. We are licensed to sell alcohol and we are no more than ten minutes drive away from several popular restaurants and pubs while maintaining the quietness one would expect from a much more rural location. The area itself is popular with people with all sorts of hobbies, from water sports to horse riding to bird watching and has lots of wonderful, well mapped walks to explore. ... more   less
