We stayed here at half term for a few days. I started off with a few niggles, we could only get a bedroom with a toilet and the en-suite bit was very small, also the room was at the top of the stairs with the potential for everyone to look in at you when the door was open. The shared... More

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay at Beddgelert. We've passed on your comments to the chef regarding the high quality of the food particularly the pannacotta! We use large dining tables to create a sociable atmosphere, although of course this may not be ideal for family groups wishing to sit together. We look... More

I visited Craflwyn Hall in September and agree with the previous reviewer about the standards of housekeeping. Cleanliness was lacking in all the public rooms and the dust on top of my wardrobe was probably the accumulation from when the season started. The same was true for under the bed. I have stayed in several HF hotels and this was definitely... More

Fabulous location for walking but house not to HF normal standards on my visit last week. A number of us were disappointed at cleanliness of bedrooms, cobwebs being a common experience. Also a little bemused by the limited supply of towels and the toilet paper in my bathroom ran out midweek and was not replenished. Given the amount spent on... More

Craflwyn Hall was in the right location for a few days break in the mountains and although the on-line reviews were largely good, the sub-text of this being an HF (Holiday Fellowship) venue tended to make me think I had made a mistake to book -- 'youth hostelling for grown-ups', so to speak... perhaps a bit prescriptive and Spartan... no... Just back from a week's walking here with HF. I would recommend it. The staff were very good, and the house manager very helpful and professional. Food is good and the choices were pleasant. I had a room in the main house which was very nice, a twin room with a huge bathroom (the space here was a bit wasted... More

Having read a few prior reviews, I was slightly concerned what to expect from this HF House. I need not have worried. Our room in the main house was spacious and comfortable, food was superb ( as always on HF Holidays) and the staff were really helpful and always smiling. I think the house has had a problem owing to... More

This is a beautiful building in a lovely location. It is leased by HF Holidays from the National Trust and its position in Snowdonia is stunning. One walk started on the Pyg track up Snowden then along the South Ridge and on footpaths right back to the hotel. The walking and sociability was, as you would expect with HF, excellent.... More

We had a week here on holiday painting course with three excursions. Dinners mostly very good. Staff did not empty the overflowing tiny pedal waste bins for paper towels in ground floor toilets nor fill soap dispensers, nor empty waste bin in room we used as studio (until asked after a few days, then did not do so again) they... Both me and my two young sons have just spent a couple of nights at this wonderfull hotel and are already wishing we were still there. It has a wonderfull location, both in terms of the hotel site and surrounding areas - such stunning scenery and so much to do and explore right on its doorstep. This is a really... More

This is fine for a casual stop, but much better to stay and enjoy terrific walking in splendid scenery. Craflwyn is owned by the National Trust and run by HF Holidays. Not yet up to full spec with full room decor, TVs etc (planned for 2013), it nonetheless provided a warm, clean, comfortable and civilised base for a great holiday.... More
