Stayed with friends for two nights 23rd to 25th August 2014. Very nice clean rooms. Generous tea and coffee making facilities in rooms. Very quiet at night. Heating in rooms very good if needed. Lovely good size bathrooms. Very professional and friendly staff who repeatedly asked if everything was okay. Had breakfast and dinner each day. Both were excellent. Very... More

Stayed down the road from Brittannia Inn, had a menu in our accomadation which said OPEN all day on bank holidays, weekends & school summer holidays, we went twice in august and it was closed, opening times saying closed from 3pm until 6pm and it was both times, so I can't write a review on food as we didn't eat... Booked for A Family meal, what a let down!! We had booked for 7.30 but it was 9.35 before the food came and then they brought The Mains out before The Starter? Which meant taking the Steaks away and having to wait another Fifteen minutes for Cheesy Garlic Bread. Sadly the Steak was tough and tasteless, probably due to being... More

May not be 5 star but excellent for B & B, lunches or evening meals if that's what you want. Just spent 2 nights here on a recommendation from a friend who has a caravan nearby. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the bedrooms, the bar and restaurant, great breakfasts, cereals, porridge, full english and I mean "full", lots of tea and... More

Absolutely fantastic location, views from the Inn are gorgeous and there are lots of walks. Host was extremely helpful and friendly. Room was lovely although the bathroom was a little small. There is a bigger suite available however. Stayed for 2 nights, breakfast lovely and dinner both nights was very nice indeed. Just a lovely, peaceful place to spend a... More

We stayed overnight on a Saturday, our room was small and over the kitchen which had a noisy fan, we did ask to move but they were full. The evening menu was limited but good size portions and well priced. The staff were excellent all weekend. Breakfast was enormous and well cooked a bit early though if you want a... More

I stayed at the Britannia Inn overnight when undertaking some cycling training on the Horseshoe Pass, before heading over to Denbigh the following afternoon. I couldn't have asked for a better location to stay. Lovely views down towards Llangollen, and very peaceful. I enjoyed a lovely evening meal (very good value) and was made to feel very welcome by the... More

I visit the 'Brit' regularly. The review titled 'food good, wierd pricing' is about ANOTHER Britannia Inn in South Wales. I find reviews like these so annoying, reputable establishments suffer because of dodgy reviews. Tripadvisor need to take note and remove reviews that are obviously incorrect. The Britannia in Lllangollen is a gem.

My wife and I chose this hotel to use as a base for exploring the roads of North Wales for a motor biking break. After booking on line, no mention was made about being 'biker friendly' although nothing was further from the truth. From the moment we arrived Anne (the owner) was extremely welcoming and invited us to leave the... More
