Being a regular visitor to the area, my wife and I have stayed at most of the other hotels in Llangollen and this hotel was strongly recommended to us. The staff were very accommodating and prepared some special touches in our room before arrival to mark our celebration. The food in the restaurant was exceptional - I can taste the... more

The views of the river are lovely, but the decor is dated (think well-kept old people's home) and the restaurant looks the part but the food is still in 1973. This hotel is probably fine if you're a hen party or a group who wants to sit and drink on the terrace overlooking the river (there were lots of both... more

It was very rainy when we arrived, so the cheerful and efficient staff were a relief! The hotel is quite a walk out of town, but it is beautifully situated on the river, with views over the old-fashioned railway and up to Dinas Bran castle. When the weather cheered up the outside terrace was a lovely place for a drink.... more

Just an overnight stay and dinner, but everything was so good that I'll return with my family next time. The newly modernised hotel is in a good location in the beautiful Dee valley and is about five minutes' walk out of this attractive little town. Having spent 200 nights+ in hotels this year alone it takes a lot to impress... more

Disappointments started just after arrival, I jumped in the shower then sat down t relax went to switch on the TV - no remote! called reception and was told 'we keep them here in case quests take them by mistake' unfortunately I had to get dressed and go... more

Really nice family run hotel. Some rooms back on to the River Dee. Good value and good service from the staff. Will go back for sure. Nicest hotel I have stayed in when going to Wales. more

Upon arrival we were greated by a very friendly receptionist and Alfie the parrot! We stayed in the Cedar Room, a VIP room with a balcony overlooking the river. We had a lovely Sunday lunch in the restaurant and the staff ensured we had a table with a lovely, unobstructed river view. We stayed in their pub in the evening... more

Myself my sister and three children stayed at white waters 15th-16th March 09. This hotel was clean and generally ok but we did not get the room that was promised which was a VIP room overlooking the River Dee.Instead we got what seemed to be a standard room overlooking the car park but you could see the river on the... more

Me and seven of my friends booked to go the christmas party night and stayed in the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by reception, the staff were very friendly and efficent. We stayed in the V.I.P luxury suites, our rooms were beautiful, luxurious and had a balcony overlooking the river Dee. The hotel is set... more
