We had a day in llangollen then stopped off here for our evening meal. The scenery is beautiful and as it was quite a warm day we where able to sit out and have our drinks. My other half had a local bitter which went down very well. We both ordered lamb shanks as you do being in Wales, 😊..... More

Stayed for a couple of nights and took my dog with me. You really cannot complain at £25 B&B plus £5 for my Springer. The room was perfectly adequate and breakfast was excellent with a good choice on the menu. A nice quiet spot with lots of nearby places to exercise the dog. A friendly place and I'd stay there... Really enjoyed staying here, its a place you would go back to again and again. Beautiful views, great food and the most amazing home brew! Great hospitality and a really good rate. Highly recommended!

I stayed there for 3 nights in March. There were a few problems such as the shower not working but overall it was a pleasant stay and the staff were all lovely and polite. I would happily stay again but I would not pay over £45 per night.

The room had character, the ambience had character, the dinning room had character, inside and out this hotel is brimming with character and if you need any proof have a drink at the bar, that place is full of characters. Brilliant hotel, brilliant setting, brilliant stay.

Unwelcoming, took an age to book in, had to pay up front in full, no assistance with luggage. room very cold, central heating did not work, cold in bed all night. had evening meal on arrival, had to search for the menu midst a load of office papers all over the bar. Clothes drying on the radiator in the food... More

Having read the poor reviews on here, we were expecting a Fawlty Towers experience. There is moose head in the bar, but otherwise not too similar. I have rated 4 rather than 3 as the location & the beer are exceptional. The hotel itself is somewhat dated. The shower was poor, and some bathroom fittings broken, but cleanliness was good,... Should have been wary when we had to pay in advance before seeing the room. Facilities were dated and bathroom needed updating. Heating needed fixing although when we complained we were given a plug in heater. Breakfast was ok but took 40 minutes to arrive. The view from the bedroom was of the rubbish and old planks of wood! Such... More

The hotel enjoys a lovely setting. Some rooms have a gorgeous view down the valley to the ruins of the Abbey, others get the cowshed of the farm, but that's the look of the draw. The rooms are of varying size, some are just about a good double, others have plenty of room. The bed in our room was comfortable... More

Idyllic setting, looks good value at £60pppn, clean, Breakfast quite good. BUT, shower head on bath a nightmare and no wall fixing, radiators not working in Rooms 3&4. Fobbed off on heating, then electric rads arrived. Staff lack any charm. Breakfast 8.30 - 9.30 non-flexible and door locked until 8.35 annoying as everyone staying was off to the local Steam...
