I stayed here just one night, but will study again on my next visit to Llangollen . The views from the terrace and from my room are just amazing. I had a river view room. The room was small, a single, but comfy. Decent bed and a bath. The shower decided not to give me hot water but the bath... More

Helpful and friendly staff. Room adequate although suprised still using blankets and not quilts. Clean and well stocked with tea & coffee and toiletries. Breakfast lovely and offered extra toast and coffee from a pleasant waiter.

Just got back from an overnight stay in this hotel. It was a very last minute booking as we literally walked in at around 4.30pm looking for a room for that evening due to unforeseen circumstances. Although there was no one on reception when I first walked in the guy who eventually greeted me was friendly and happy to show... More

The room was adequate but the bed was terrible with a distinct dip in the middle, what might be called a "friendly" mattress as you can't get away from each other! The bed was made up with sheets and blankets (in 2014!). The bathroom was small but o.k. The breakfast was the best thing in the hotel. No evening meal on... More

This really is a very nice hotel and it does exactly what you would expect from its 3 star status and if you remember this then there's no problem. We stayed for 4 nights and couldn't fault anything from arrival to checking out.Ample free private parking, a very easy check in and the room had fantastic views of the river and... We stayed here for one night with our two kids and the room was OK - plenty of space but very tired and dated with a pathetic shower and uncomfy beds with sheets and blankets. It was clean though and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room and some nice biscuits - the Reception staff were friendly... More

I stayed at the Royal Hotel in late June of this year. The place is a d.u.m.p. The beds are horrible and the food and restaurant were pitiful. Hair in the food and floating "particles" in the water. Notice the only photos are outdoors??? They can't show the inside. Old and tired and just plain worn out.

Stayed for one night in this really nice hotel. Friendly staff, fabulous breakfast served by attentive waiters. There's a private car park for the hotel across the road. We stayed in room 116 overlooking the river, clean, spacious room and large comfy bed. No complaints at all and would recommend.

On arrival we were made very welcome, booking in was simple and access to the car park directions given. car park very close by. Our room was in keeping with the regency style of the overall hotel, Staff were friendly with a gentle quietness that allows for that home from home feeling to be absorbed in the peaceful settings overlooking... Positives. Central location, Good Breakfast, Fairly tidy rooms. good for short stay - 2-3 days. However for longer I would be looking for something more. Negatives, Hotel is under-invested in terms of staff and Décoration, indeed it was a job to find staff on occasions, and does need a makeover in certain areas there was a run down feel about the...
