My room was warm and comfortable. I had a very nice evening meal in the wine bar. The cooked breakfast was extra but the total price for B&B was fair enough for somewhere of this standard. I'd definitely go back.

No, not POSH; but certainly attractive, Good location, adequate and well managed parking. Room 1 nicely furnished with old stuff. Bathroom more than adequate. Worth noting that some rooms are right above the successful wine bar/eaterie. The noise was not excessive, but there and until 1-2a.m. We were puzzled about what to do with the demi carafe of port. Gift?... More

Stayed in Room 1, spacious warm, nice cotton linen and towels. Staff friendly in wine bar continental breakfast included fine but could have full welsh/english if wanted. Good size kettle and tea pot in room to make drinks. Would have given 5 rating but for the very noisy drunks up and down the street outside between 11-2am. Car parking limited... More

We stayed in the Courtyard Cottage for our engagement. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed and more. The business is family run and is ever so warm and friendly. We had a beautiful breakfast and then set out on a 7-mile History Trail - They were great at advising us on all the routes in the area.... More

We stayed in Room 12 which was spacious, quiet and cosy and which had a welcoming carafe of port on arrival. The hotel is ideallly placed in the centre of the town and with car parking. We liked the small gift shop and the wine shop, making purchases from both. On seeing the continental breakfast provided in the room rate which... More

We ended up staying here after arriving at the Wynnstay arms next door to discover it had been shut down the Monday previous without warning and having received confirmation email! The owner offered us to stay here instead. We are so glad we stayed. The bar is lovely and very friendly, what the staff don't know about their wine isn't... More

Friends organized a NYE getaway. Initially we were booked into rooms in Gales. On arrival we had been moved to Cottage 21 as they had a cancellation. This worked out better for us as we had use of a 2 bedroom cottage with lounge, kitchen and conservatory with sofa and dining table. This was ideal for us as we had... More

Myself and a few of our family and friends stayed in a variety of rooms (including in the hotels and cottage) over the course of the New Year's Eve celebrations. We stayed in the cottage for two nights. The cottage I personally stayed in the cottage with my husband and my parents. Our cottage was in the courtyard of the... More

We booked two nights B and B via a Travelzoo offer. Unlike other guests, we didn't receive a warm welcome, but were just handed the keys to our room by the lady in the shop. We had room 15 - a very spacious, clean, warm room with two double beds. We had clean fluffy towels each day and our continental... More

My daughter and I have just returned from a 2 ngt stay at The Gales Hotel. From the initial telephone call to book the hotel, I felt that we would be arriving at a warm venue. On arrival, we went in via the shop, which I have to say is an amazing little shop, from wines to gifts, the lady... More
