Stayed here after reading good reviews. On arrival we were given a room on the first floor overlooking the road room no 1, The room was nicely furnished and immaculate ( very squeaky bed) but the street in front looked like it was going to be noisy with a Chinese restaurant and 3 bars in close vicinity. I asked to... More

Having read the reviews for Gales we recently opted to stay there for one night and unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. Yes the building is old and as such you expect quirkiness buy do not expect a low level of cleanliness (cobwebs hanging from the ceiling) and decor (black marks on wallpaper and paintwork). This was... More

We booked online to stay here for the weekend......we got a £99 for 2 deal. The room was delightfully quaint and quirky..none of the 'cheap and cheerful' decor..it was lovely,,a big old fashioned wooden bed and furniture and a lovely arm chair and writing desk to lift it from a 'bedroom' The en suite was 'snug' but practical. The owners... More

Spent a night in room 10 which is bedroom & sittingroom suite. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and warm. Furnished to a high standard with excellent tea/coffee & hot chocolate in the suite. There were 2 handmade chocolates and a small bottle of Port waiting for us on arrival. Yum! We ate in the restaurant that night and although... More

Having spent some time here many years ago, its with some trepidation that we revisited. However, no need to worry, the warm welcome from Gilly and Richard Gale and a room not seen before but possessing all the normal Gales panache soon put us at ease. The rooms are quirky and possess non of the normal boring corporate outfitting, each... More

We arrived in town late-ish and went straight to the information centre to find a B&B and this was the first one they tried for us. One room left, luckily for us. This is a very comfortable, professionally run B&B attached to a restaurant (separately reviewed) and wine bar. Off street parking behind the building is available. Great value in... More

Lovely room over Gales wine bar, just round the corner from the bridge over the beautiful river Dee. The room was clean, warm, lovely beds and bathroom. We ate in the wine bar and the food was delicious! Slept well, nice continental breakfast, we will definitely go there again and recommend to family and friends.

The building itself is amazing & i love the fact that the owner's have tried to keep as much original charm as possible . A family weekend taking up four rooms and surprised how they were all so very different. We didn't dine at Gales but menu looked good and the restaurant was full on both the Friday and Saturday evenings.... The owners were all very helpfull, would definately return next time in Llangollen..

Great location for walking around this lovely cultural center of Wales especially since driving in town is a bit challenging. There is a very small car park behind the hotel - hard to negotiate - so we opted for on-street parking with a voucher given by the hotel but providing for specific times only. There is no elevator and stairs... More
