Firstly, I have to admit that Llangollen is my home town, although the I now live in Southampton. This is the first time I have stayed at Gales. It is the centre of town with parking on-site as long as you carefully negotiate the 'very tight' entrance/exit. I stayed on a Monday night and was 'upgraded' to a very charactful... More

Me and my Fiancé stayed in Room 8 this weekend and we loved every minute of our stay, from the warm welcome on arrival to the friendly and professional service throughout our evening meal through to the advice on where to visit as we checked out! The room was unique, tastefully decorated and clean with the lovely touch of a... More

The hospitality we received at this hotel is second to none, from the time we booked in we were met by very friendly people that nothing was to much trouble. we stayed 3 night and was invited to a wine tasting afternoon with picks and even offered a free brandy when we was a little cold after our arrival from... We stayed at Gales a week ago and I have to say it was absolutely fab. The room was quirky and met our needs and the meal in the wine bar fantastic. The service from the moment we arrived was second to none, the wine shop stocked some fabulous wines and spirits. We got a lovely little table in the... More

I joined 11 of my male colleagues to a Management Training Weekend in Wales which meant we were up to white water rafting, canyoning and canoeing. All of us stayed in the Gales of Llangollen and literally took all but a few rooms. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the food was simply spectacular and the overall experience was... More

As part of small golf group stayed 3 nights in October. The rooms were typical B&B style, clean but basic. My room (4) was at the rear overlooking the car park and mainly very quiet. Fine for single occupancy. The hotel could save money by less heat being pumped out from the many radiators - always a feature of hotels... More

We travel to Llangollen regularly for a relaxing day out, but had never before used this eatery. We soon found out what we had been missing, as the welcome we got was first class, cheerful and friendly. We settled, on this occasion, for sandwiches and a few drinks, as the slow cooker was on at home for our evening meal.... More

Surprise birthday treat from my husband. Having eaten at the gales previously, booked into the suite for the night. The suite was very high quality. Ate in the Resturant, the food an wine choice was sublime an the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We will be back!

Stayed a couple of nights, pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and the welcoming service. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, and on the top floor fairly quiet. Continental breakfast was really just cereal and toast, with a bit of ham and cheese thrown in. They obviously want you to pay extra for the cooked options, which... More
