Just spent a bank holiday weekend at the Hand Hotel. As many reviews say, the Hotel is a little dated but the rooms were spacious and clean, the beds comfortable and overall very good for the price. The Hotel is well situated just off the main street of Llangollen, the breakfast was excellent and the staff efficient and friendly. I... More

Rooms can not be described as Best, noisy in the morning. No Internet in the rooms. Breakfast buffet has nice choice. Nice location. I could not find any Halal place in Town. You can go to Dinas Bran Castle, which is viewable from the dining hall by hiking.

On arrival was greeted by one of the owners and she was lovely, really busy but took time out to show me where the local attractions were, nothing was too much trouble. A table was automatically booked for me for the evening in the restaurant. We didn't return to the hotel until 6pm and checked in and was warned about... More

Arrived here with my wife and friends for a couple of nights just before the bank holiday. Yes it is a little dated but we found for the price we paid £55-00 per night with breakfast was good. We had room 31 looking over the river plenty of space in the room, tea &coffee, and hot water with a bath... More

This hotel does look slightly dated but is great value for money and nice and clean. Nice breakfast, friendly staff and lovely beer garden overlooking the river. Two or three minutes walk from bustling town centre.

Stayed one night [ sun 10th aug 14 ] there was another booking problem the same as last year, but this was quickly sorted. Our room was fresh and clean and overlooked the river just as we requested. The dinning room looked to have had a refurb, our two meals there of good quality. We were even given a 15%... More

I'm a teacher from America who takes students to Europe to get a taste of culture that is not their own. This hotel was a PERFECT place to do just that. This old hotel with it's zillion staircases and legends showed my kids that building can have great histories and characters. The rooms are odd shaped and sometimes small, but... More

Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was a good selection. Very helpful staff. Great spot overlooking the river, shower took a while to get warm but that was ok. Good value for money, nice spot :)

Hotel in good town centre location with adequate parking. Reception staff could do with Customer Service training as they barely looked up when we checked in and out. It all seemed like too much trouble for them. The hotel itself needs refurbishing as some carpets were threadbare and paper peeling off the walls although room was clean. Shower was old... More

Hi, Stayed here because of a wedding we were attending - hotel was right next door to the church which was really handy. Arrived at reception and the receptionist popped her head round the door of the back office eating her breakfast cereal...oh dear. To be fair though she was very nice and helpful. The room was not a bad... More
