Stayed for one night on a travelzoo offer - £89 for one night b and b in standrad room with 3 course evening meal. Check in was quick and we were pleased to have had a free upgrade to a suite. Room was lovely with huge bed, whirlpool bath, minibar and balcony. Evening meal was gorgeous and there was a... More

Booked this hotel with a groupon voucher, so was a really good deal. Than I looked at reviews and was very worried as many reviews are bad. When we arrived I asked if we could have an upgrade-I offered to pay, but non available as hotel full. So it was with much trepidation that we went to our room. we... More

First time in North Wales and was pleasantly surprised by the whole town: beautiful steam train, river, people... the hotel has good walking distance from town, great food presentation, friendly staff but there is an old wing and a renovated wing that looks like the 7os or 80s (see photos). Next time I will book on the new side. Loved... More

My parents stayed here for two nights in July, after checking out and a 2.5 hr drive later, my Dad realised he had left a substantial amount of cash in their room. He immediately found somewhere to phone the hotel and explain what had happened. The cash was found and he was asked for his bank details and the money... More

Just returned from a short break to this hotel, what a lovely place with an excellent location. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Evening meal was excellent, nice sized portions and well presented. Rooms need a bit of tlc and showers need upgrading. Spa excellent, just need pool to make it perfect.

Great stay here although , shame no swimming pool. The dinner was excellent . No complaints at all . Breakfast well eggs bacon had been under the lamp too long so therefore rather solid . But otherwise ok. Shame wifi only available in bar area , not in any of the rooms as no orange or Vodafone signal here at... More

Just retuned from an amazing weekend!!!! We stayed at the hotel Saturday 19th July. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. We upgraded to the Dee Valley Suite - highly recommended. Spacious, modern rooms with private hot tub on the balcony. This was our second visit to the hotel this year. Earlier in the year we stayed in... More

Stayed for 2 nights - July 2014. Room including en suite below the level of 'sub standard' and charge extortionate for standard offered. Despite sending feedback on hotel website no response received which might indicate where the customer ranks on their list of priorities. Should you choose to book a room do not pay in advance and inspect the room... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a "standard"room. On arrival we noticed peeling paint on the windows and marks and dents on the corridor walls. The room itself was clean but very dowdy with dark wood furniture and had a very old fashioned feel, but not in a good way.Again the window frame paint was peeling. The bathroom was tiny with no bath, the toilet... We stayed for two nights, on a voucher deal, which included one evening dinner. We had a standard room, which, although it had no view, was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with comfy beds, and good en-suite facilities. The hotel is a mixture of styles, varying from "old world" to "modern" but together, providing a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast can be a... More
