It is in a lovley place with beautiful surrounding countryside. I suppose in the summer it was lovely. The building is clearly very old with creaky floors etc. The bar area was stark, cold and small. The lounge area was very comfortable and clean. It had about 5 x 3 piece suites and very floral carpet.Yes, you could put your... More

More than adequate for a relaxing weekend. Warm welcome by an informative swedish gentleman who runs the guest house with family. Beautifully cooked evening meal and equally good full welsh breakfast. Dated decor but this adds to its charm...some music would have been beneficial in the dining room...comfortable bed. Overgrown but pretty garden...a real country cosy retreat...would recommend.

This property is a guest house and not a hotel.it is a unique place run by I think two sisters it is off the beaten track and pubs and cafes in which to eat are spare. I must submit at least 200 characters for this review so now I am waffling.

Like many others, it seems we discovered the Golden Pheasant through Travelzoo. Finding it wasn't easy with a number of signs scattered around but none of them pointing anywhere. Once we did find it, the building wasn't at all what we expected. It was rather quaint and quirky, but there were flowers and welcome signs in the car park. The... More

We stayed for one night at The Golden Pheasant, booked using a travel zoo deal. Our room was clean and comfortable, only negative was that the shower water pressure was poor (Room 18). We had a three course meal as part of the deal, the food was good, nicely presented and cooked fresh. There were only a few people dining... More

The staff are welcoming, courteous and friendly, we booked on a Travelzoo deal, but had to pay an extra £20 as they only had a 'garden room' available. The room was pleasant, had been modernised somewhat I think, and was comfortable, although the water pressure through the taps was abysmal. Thankfully the electric shower worked fine. The included dinner was... More

This is the second time we have been to the Golden Pheasant. Both times we enjoyed the peaceful location, good food and pleasant staff. Although we agree that the building needs updating and the owner knows this. Spend some time here and you will not be disappointed, we have stayed in places which had great reviews and prices to match.... More

When we first arrived at the Golden Pheasant both my wife and I thought, 'hmm not sure about this place'. How wrong we were. The accommodation is very comfortable and the staff attentive without being intrusive. We particularly enjoyed the hearty breakfast which set us up for a full day walking in the Cieriog valley. Add to this a peaceful... More

We recently spent a couple of nights at the Golden Pheasant and had a very pleasant stay at this quiet but beautiful location, which is wonderful for exploring Llangollen, the countryside and North Wales coast. Like previous reviewers we found the evening meal rather expensive although it was of reasonable quality. However the breakfasts are wonderful! The hotel's décor is... More

My wife and I have returned today from a weekend at this Inn. We wasn't quite sure what to expect having read varying recent reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't arrive until about 7-30 on friday evening, they accommodated us for dinner that evening, without a prior booking. The 2 course meal, whilst of a decent quality, the... More
