We stayed for one night and really enjoyed it. The spa though very small was relaxing and a good addition to the Hotel. Food and service very good in restaurant. All staff, reception, bar etc were genuinely friendly which is very refreshing. However we booked a junior suite and were a little disappointed with it, even though it was the... more

We organised a trip to the region for 26 fellow travellers and were delighted at the service we recievd during our stay. Nothing was too much bother and the welcome we received was second to none. The bedrooms were the only thing not up to the highest standard but this minor failing is being rectified with a major refurbishment programme. more

This was our second stay at this lovely country hotel. We had the suite again which is very nicely furnished with LCD TV etc and separate bedroom. We only stayed one night but the minute that you arrive at this hotel you instantly feel relaxed and welcome. It is a laid back hotel where you are treated as a friend... more

Friendly helpful staff, lovely room with a view, great food with extra effort from the chef because of my eating problems (I need extra sauces etc due to lack of siliva after hospital treatment) everyone friendly and relaxed, we had the dog with us and she was made most welcome, even received a dog treat from reception. Only seemed to... more

Me and my husband live in Wrexham (20 miles away) and decided to have a weekend away, upon arrival the hotel looked beautiful, in fantastic surroundings but things started to go downhill as soon as we entered! The young man behind reception didn't seem to know what he was doing, and seemed like he did not want to be there,... more

We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend in the beautiful Ceiriog valley, but unfortunately it turned out to be anything but relaxing. Ordering for meals was very poorly organised, although the service improved once you got into the dining room. On our first evening we waited over an hour from ordering to sitting down at the table and the... more

Nothing was too much trouble for all of the staff, hotel was clean and cormfortable and the food in both the bar and restaurant was great. The hotel is situated in a quiet rural setting but there is lots to see... more

Mr. and Mrs Gibbs Port Talbot Recently stayed at The Golden Pheasant with our 3 year old German Shepherd , Thor. Found all the staff to be very friendly and helpfull, nothing was too much trouble. The food was of a very high standard, with Thor saying that his marrow bone was one of the best he'd ever tasted. There... more
