Room poor, with unpleasant smell. Kettle 'gunged' up - didn't risk making a brew. Bacon was like shoe leather. Cash only - no receipt. Relieved we only had to stay 1 night. Good views across the valley. Bad junction getting out of car park.

Bryn Meirion is a mile outside of Llangollen, though this doesn't matter as the Mike & Jane are happy to provide the taxi service into town. We were walking the Offa's Dyke path and found this a very restful B&B. Our twin room had a third bed in it which was great for all our gear and a lovely wet... More

We enjoyed our week's stay during the International Music Eisteddfod. We were welcomed and enjoyed tea, coffee and biscuits. Mike and Jane were friendly and asked about our preferences for breakfast time and choice of food. Our room was very comfortable and a lounge was also available for guests. The breakfast was very hearty with plenty of variety. The views... More

This is a nice B&B a mile from Llangollen town centre. The host provided a lift to town and back to the trail in the morning. It has a breakfast room with views over the valley and the canal. Good food, nice hosts. On the downside: could be cleaner. Off the Offa's Dyke. 2 km back to the path, but... More

Thank you for your review. It would have been helpful to let us know what improvements in cleanliness could be made.We are surprised you gave us only 3 out of 5 for value. You used Contours Walking Holidays to make the reservation and the price we quoted was £35 per person bed and breakfast. That is a reasonable price for a double ensuite... After a very long a wet day walking we arrived to a warm welcome at the Bryn Meirion. Our room was large and warm with an amazing view over the canal, heritage railway and surrounding hills and trees. The owner gave us a lift into the town once we were warm and dry. Breakfast was amazing, traditional but not greasy.... More

Room could do with a fresh modern look as it was a bit dated and looked a bit scruffy. Having to boil the kettle on the floor next to the bed was also not ideal. However, Mike and Jane were excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We were offered a good choice of breakfast (great views a plus), we also... More

Thank you for your positive review. We enjoyed meeting you all including Socksie or is it Soxsie? We did not throw the sock away but let our" adorable dog" play with it for a while. We enjoyed the conversation with you after breakfast and hope to welcome you here again. More

A warm reception with a much appreciated pot of tea on arrival, just what we needed after manning the Beekeepers stand at the Food Festival all day. We stayed one night. The house and location was great. Nice big soft bed with a great view. The grassed area they have is quite sloped though so don't plan on sitting on the grass on a sunny day, or you might roll down the hill! Other then that there was nothing to special or wow factor about the place... More

Thank you for your rather odd review. You have certainly condemned us with faint praise.I cannot fathom why you bothered to write this review. As for the inclusion of the sloping garden comment surely you were aware of the perfectly flat patio and the flat balcony leading from the dining room conservatory. Why would anyone want to sit on the grass in the...
