Chris, the owner was fabulous and gave us a great introduction to Conwy - how to get downtown easily, with a great hand-drawn map and some information on local pubs, eating places and sites in and around Conwy. Location was on a very quiet street, located about a block or so off the highway, and a reasonable walk to downtown... More

My husband and I stayed one night at this B&B. Yes, we got a bit lost too! I can endorse all the previous comments, even the slightly negative ones about the out-of-date decor etc. However, all-in-all I would agree with previous reviewers that the location is very good and the hosts, Chris and Janis, are very friendly and helpful which... Chose this B&B for its location near to the marina and it proved to be a good choice. I was given a very friendly welcome and my room was lovely. Whinward House is close enough to the town centre and the castle to walk in along the riverside footpath, yet set in a quiet residential street. The breakfast was excellent... More

I'm not usually a B&B person, but we really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were very nice and gave us a lovely breakfast. The location was good; a 10 minute walk to town and a 7 minute walk to the marina. Good restaurant advice from the owner, except the Mulberry in the Marina; that wasn't our favorite restaurant. Very... More

Chris was a very friendly host & made us feel extremely welcome. Our room & bathroom were a little outdated, but it felt like we were staying with friends or family. I enjoyed having smoked salmon with scrambled eggs as an option instead of the standard Welsh breakfast. We stayed here 2 nights since there is so much to see... More

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel in August during our 2 weeks vacation around UK. The location of this hotel is really good. Very close to Conwy town centre and good place to visit Northern Wales castles and Snowdonia. Very helpful staff. Chris explained us everything what we needed. It was very good home made breakfast. But cleanliness was... More

Everything was beautiful. The hotel and its owners are very pleasant. We had a nice double room. Excellent home made breakfast. Chris told us everything we needed, recommended good places to eat, a nice walk to the centre. We'd like to stay there again, 3 days weren't enough. A good place to start trips to Snowdonia, Anglesey etc.

Its in a lovely area but quite difficult to find. The booking was easy and in general the accommodation was nice. However, it is in need of updating and quite cluttered. Some green mold in the bathroom and the cleanliness of the room wasn't fantastic. Eg dirty cup marks on the bed side table, lamps covered in dust, bathroom basket... More

For us it was not easy to find the Whinward House immediately but with the help of a friendly, helpful man we found it. Once arrived we were welcomed by Chris the owner. He explained us everything related to the location and helped us to bring the luggage to our room. Our twin room was located in the first floor.... More

Comfortable, quiet accommodation and breakfast made to order and cooked to perfection. Outstanding location, walking distance to the city centre. This was my second trip to Conwy-stayed at The Castle Hotel previously- and would not hesitate to stay at Whinward House again. Chris and Janis are brilliant hosts, providing excellent recommendations for sights to see that you might not find... More
