We've just got back from a wonderful week here. We had 3 of the cottages between us and they were ideal, all next to each other so we could spend time together, but still have our own space. They were on a courtyard where the 7 children in our party had endless fun whizzing round on the bikes and skateboards... more

We stayed with our kids for a Farm stay in Wales. Oh boy, did they have a great time with feeding the horses, ducks , sheep and hens.Alf , the doggie was always at hand which made the stay a hit! We could use their bicylces and cycle up the lovely slopes of the countryside. Well located to several eating... more

We started staying here a year ago and we have been back 4 times since. We stay in one of the cosey and authentic self catering cottages which are all surrounded by beautiful and stunning mountain views. You really get the wow factor when you pull up!! The kids occupy themselves for hours by either feeding the horses and other animals... more

Initial impression was ok, but after spending a few nights in the self catering cottage we found the following problems; no heating in bathroom , one radiator for the whole of rest of cottage which was only on a small amount of time per day during the coldest winter for a number of years. The only other heating was a... more

Quiet spot just outside the town. We stayed in the Victorian 4 poster which was immaculate with lovely views. The public areas, dinning room, hallways, lounge looked proffesionally designed with lots of art and quality antique furnature. It was just such a great house. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, choice of several teas even herb tea with fresh herbs... more

We stayied in September 2007, sadly the place did not live up to the expectations and we would not return. The cottage we were in was poorly set out with a big beam directly above the bed, which resulted in my partner banging his head a few times. The water syatem isn't very good when the cottages share it and... more

We have just returned from a lovely 4 day family break occupying two cottages, this is the second time we have stayed at Gwern Borter in one of their nice little cottages. The cottages vary in size and shape, are well equipped and spotlessly clean. They are all very cosy but if you are tall like me then the chances... more

Just a warning - take out insurance if staying here. We couldn't get there because of heavy snow and the associated hazardous driving conditions / road closures etc on on 9th Feb 07. We were informed that customers from London had managed to make the journey (well done them!) and under no cirumstances could we be refunded or even alter... more

Management response from
gwern, owner

With the greatest respect bad weather did not effect any other guests from arriving at this busy period ( half term ) we were fully booked and everyone else arrived. This booking was for a week Sat to Sat and the snow had gone by Monday. So even if they were very nervous on the Sat they could have come...
