We went on sunday night to the restaurant of this hotel and we loved it. Wine was excelent and food very good. The rissotto and the Rosty were fantantic, full of flavour and delicious. My partner order the posh fish and chips which was gluten free and include fresh scallops, prawns, salmon and haddock!!! Is very difficult and almost impossible... More

We have been to many nice hotels but this one must be one of the best. From checking in to checking out staff was warm friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We stayed for two nights 1st night we eat out with friends that live in the area the second we eat at the hotel. It wax very busy... More

We had the privilege of staying in the second floor suite. Idiosyncratic, large and comfortable, whoever decorated it knew no bounds, leopard fabric chairs, Roman portico to the bathroom and a Buddha with a receding hairline all greeted us as we made it to the top floor. The staff were attentive and helpful with luggage and information. Whilst the bed... More

Ate here late one night after arriving into the area after a long drive. Very nice to be served after 9pm - staff were very welcoming and friendly. Went for the posh fish and chips and seafood stew option with tow round if drinks - the bill was close to £60. Quite happy to pay this for top quality food... More

Thanks for writing and your kind comments about our front of house staff. Not sure why you didn't enjoy your fish and chips - probably our biggest seller! The mixture of fish is a combination of scallops, king prawns, salmon and cod cooked in a gluten free beer batter - and only cooked as it's 'called away'. The Bouillabaisse is the same... More

Once again we have been thoroughly impressed by the Castle Hotel. Visited for Sunday lunch with elderly mother and well travelled brother. Each member of staff made us welcome and did everything possible to cater for our mother who has specific tastes. Our lunch was delicious. Especially the paella - much better than the two I had recently in Madrid... More

Just had a light lunch here. My parents went for the pesto house salad, I had the scallops and my partner had the veggie burger. All were happy. Coffee was good as well. And their service were outstanding! A perfect place for a light lunch after visiting the historical sites

We had a one night stay here and loved our room 108 with a gorgeous window seat in the turret overlooking the High Street. The hotel is full of character and quaint . The weather was glorious so we were able to sit outside on the hotel patio area for the odd glass of proscecco or two. The continental breakfast... More

Very enjoyable late dinner. Perfectly cooked rack of Welsh lamb, good wines, excellent service. A well managed restaurant with a talented chef in an historic hotel strong on tradition. Have dined here several times over a number of years. I am Impessed by how the high standards are maintained with great consistency.

Thank you very much - diolch yn fawr iawn. We have owned the hotel for 14 years and have always tried to maintain high standards of facilities, food and service - even through some difficult trading periods. It's our loyal guests like yourselves who have helped see us through - and a terrific team of local people over those years,... More

We stayed here as we wanted to revisit Conwy itself and to walk around the City Walls. An awesome stay. The room we had which has a Four Poster bed that was centuries old, yet still extremely comfortable. The room and the hotel were very clean. The staff were really welcoming and helped make our stay even more memorable. Our... More

What a great review - thank you so much for writing. We get a lot of guests staying with us from all over the world and it's really nice to hear when someone travels so far to be in Conwy and thoroughly enjoys themselves. First impressions of the hotel were great - I really loved the character and decor of the hotel. We also booked the suite as we were travelling with two kids. The double bath was brilliant and enjoyed by all and the champagne on arrival was a nice touch. However there were quite a few niggling points - which on their... More

Thanks for your review which on the whole is pretty objective, although a little unfair. I was made aware of your booking by our DM on your arrival, as you booked your room through a 3rd party website, who didn't inform us you had chidren, just a cot required, as we don't accommodate children in the Caer Rhun Suite. However,... More
