I went to Pentre Court with a friend and my dog to celebrate a birthday and to chill out. The welcome was warm, the room comfortable and well equipped, excellent beds. Then we found the garden, and what a joy that was. After a swim in the heated pool and a stroll round the garden, we sat on the terrace... More

I have read the 7 reviews above and can understand some of the complaints/comments. It is a little tired, it is on the A40 and if you're a light sleeper and your bedroom is on that side then it might be a problem, it's certainly cluttered and the shower took some careful adjusting to get temperature right............BUT, it's ENORMOUSLY CHARMING,... Pentre Court is great place to stay if you're walking in the Brecon Beacons or Black Mountains - and our small dog was also welcome. The room was spacious with a stunning view, en suite bathroom and television. The cooked breakfast was entirely made of local or homemade produce. Just a ten minute drive from Abergavenny's Michelin-starred Walnut Tree Restautant.... More

Our stay at Pentre Court was somewhat marred by the flithy bathroom which lacked any heat..and it was February when we stayed! The plughole was full of hair, the tiles were covered with mould and the loo seat broken. When we pulled our towels off the radiator in the bedroom they were coated in thick cobwebs. It was a shame... More

if clean and tidy is your thing, this might not be the best place for you. The house is lovely situated outside the village of Abergavenny and at the edge of Brecon Beacons National Park. The views are just amazing. The house is very charming, but is in need for a lot of redecoration. One clear example are the windows... More

I feel a bit guilty having to leave Pentre Court a less than positive review as the owners were such lovely people, but I want to be honest. We got this place out of the Lonely Planet Wales guide - it was under the mid-range section so thought it would be acceptable for a couple of nights. It was almost... More

Was disappointed. The house was dark, full of junk and clutter and smelt of mothballs. Some of the breakfast cereal was, I noticed from its packaging, considerably past its use-by date. More

Very welcomming B&B in a lovely Georgian house just outside Abergavenny. Superb hosts, large bedroom with views over the countryside, comfortable bed and a fine breakfast to set us on our way in the morning. More
