I booked through expedia and the rate was good value for a single room including breakfast. The room was not modern and was a little tired, however it served its purpose. The hotel exterior and grounds are stunning and it is a very peaceful place to stay. I did not try the restaurant in the evening but the menu looked... More

A quiet get away into the country area. Nothing to do on property. Wifi is available but unreliable and there is TV. Otherwise there is not much to do. This is good for a writing getaway, where one wishes to really shut off. Or if one needs a quiet place to recharge. The best things about this place are the... More

This is a beautiful old house in stunning surroundings. We booked for lunch and, as it was a warm sunny day, we sat on the terrace initially overlooking the lovely grounds and lake. here we were served canapes and our drinks. Lunch in the dining room was excellent and included amuse bouch, I ordered venison which was cooked to perfection.... More

We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night, booking through a Secret Escapes meal deal. The two nights were good value for money. I'd describe this as a 'Hotel and Restaurant' in a great setting with excellent food, service and no problem parking for whom that matters. The hotel is more of a big country home and is generally... We were a party of 19 people - 15 adults and 4 children - celebrating my mothers 70th birthday. We hired a room for Sunday Lunch and the food was superb. We were served canopies upon arrival which were also superb. The staff were delightful, very helpful and welcoming and prior to our arrival communication was excellent. The setting -... More

This is a gem of a hotel, a well preserved old stately home with lovely rooms and great service. It has a little pond, complete with geese and ducks and tiny ducklings, a very pretty but quite unapproachable tortoiseshell/white cat and a delightful little church at the edge of the property. To cap it all, the food is magnificent.

Me and my husband stayed here last night and we are very disappointed with our stay. We arrived at 3 and asked for a double room as we had seen on booking.com that they had availability but we thought we would book straight with them. The receptionist said that they were fully booked, I explained to her that I had... More

My son and daughter-in-law got married here 6 years ago. It wonderful, lovely food excellent location and helpful staff. We returned last weekend for an overnight stay and meal before they emigrate to Australia. We had a fabulous time, excellent evening meal and breakfast. We would recommend that they do a bit of decorating now to keep this beautiful place... More

We went on a Travelzoo night and the tasting menu was really fantastic. It is a beautiful hotel, a bit tired around the edges but clean and the staff were young, enthusiastic and eager to please. The food and staff made up for the cracked window in the bedroom and the dodgy pictures on the wall! The grounds were absolutely... More
