After roughing it for four days at the splendid Green Man festival, my family and I decided we needed a hot, fulfilling meal to set us up for the journey home. Abergavenny was a half hour drive away and upon arriving, we quickly found a public car park by the bus station and adjacent to this, The Swan hotel which... More

There is a well attended bar downstairs with boisterous locals but not audible at all where we were. Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfasts were ok but nothing remarkable. Overall an ordinary sort of pub with rooms to stay upstairs. No waiters with white coats...but you pay for that sort of thing..a highlight was when I was sitting... More

Every pub and hotel seemed to be booked when we arrived so were fortunate that we got a room at the Swan. Very basic room that was adequate, however, the noise from the band downstairs in the pub did making sleeping difficult, however, we had been warned. We were overlooking the main street so when the pubs closed it became... More

Clean hotel. It was very noisy especially having dinner. Dinner was good and presented well. Shower very very small and double bed pushed against wall making it difficult to get out. Car park was accessible and safe. Asked for early breakfast but no one showed up. So had paid for one in our booking but didn't get it.

The many flaws of this hotel would not matter much for an overnight stay but we stayed for four nights and they really did matter for that length of time. The worst thing was that for nearly the entire stay we were unable to get internet in our second-floor room and sometimes couldn't even get it downstairs. We told staff... More

Overpriced but in a good location. The rooms were clean but basic. The breakfast was good. Ok if you don't want an early night, especially on a weekend stay as live music in the bar was loud in our room.

If you are looking for a cheap, clean bed to collapse into after a great Welsh mountain walk I can recommend The Swan. The room was plenty big enough for all our kit and the shower was clean and hot. It's a lively place but solidly built so on the 2nd floor we couldn't hear a thing. The staff were... More

Arrived with a small party of 10 and picked the restaurant at random. We were made very welcome and the room was light and airy with nice chairs and table cloths. The staff were very attentive and friendly and our meals arrived quite quickly. The food was hot but the plates had not been warmed up. However it did not... More

My parents and I booked two rooms at this inn in Abergavenny for three nights (the first night was a Saturday). My parents were given the larger room on the first floor (no elevators). Unfortunately, when we returned to the Inn after dinner, the pub (on the ground floor) had live music playing. The music was so loud, the floor... More

Nice little basic ran hotel with a good atmosphere, really friendly and down to earth staff who were welcoming instantly on arrival, food was nice and a good choice and ales at the bar. Room was clean and comfy, breakfast filling and enjoyable. Unpretentious and very pleasant stay. Keep up the good work.
