We have visited the restaurant at The Angel at Abergavenny several times since our last review. The Staff are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS they make every customer feel extra special & their customer care & service is second to none. The food is gorgeous. Together making a visit there a very special day out. Abergavenny is a lovely small town with unique... More

There were six (discerning) ladies in my party and we all had a very relaxed afternoon. There were other tables occupied enough to give it atmosphere but quiet enough to chat and be heard. Our choice of teas was varied amongst us with offers of top-ups or to try another. Four small varied sandwiches each and a good selection of... More

We've just arrived back from two days at the Angel. Fantastic food, interior, customer service and experiences in the breakfast room and fine dining in the Oak Room. The experience exceeded our expectations.. which is rare these in cut price and poor service. No doubt we will be back for a guaranteed excellence in comfort and care. Thanks to the... More

My husband and I stayed here with a party organised by my aunt to celebrate her 80th birthday and we all had a superb stay! The rooms were beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean. All the staff we met were very helpful and the food was superb - especially the breakfast and Rib Eye Steak I had for dinner! Every... More

I stayed at The Angel for one night on 7th May. The staff at check-in were very attentive and helpful. The hotel entrance and downstair areas were clean, modern and welcoming. The management have done a good job of working within the constraints of the architecture. The room (superior double) was well furnished and comfortable. Only downside was the warmth... More

This is my second stay at The Angel. The room was spotless. The only strange thing was the duvet which was inside a folded sheet (woke up several times to find myself tangled in it!), would have much preferred a standard duvet cover. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious! Also attended an event at The Angel on the Saturday night,... More

We stayed 3 nights on the 'Indulgence package' - and it was! The upgraded rooms were excellently appointed and scrupulously clean. Our dinner, from the set menu, was tasty and breakfasts good. Little extras and attention to detail made it feel indulgent, like appetisers with drinks before dinner, daily replenishing of water/biscuits etc. The most outstanding feature, however, was the... Hotel very nice, room good, with nice selection on quality fair trade teas and coffees. Breakfast amazing! Just didn't like deposit fee they ask you to pay before giving keys. Fair enough it was refunded, but told it was for breakages. So put dampner on stay really. Stayed in many hotels around the world and never required to pay this... More

There are afternoon teas, and then there are real afternoon teas. The Angel Hotel definitely falls into the second catergory. The word sumpuous springs to mind to describe the truly wonderful spread layed out before us. When beyond eating another morsel, each of us had what I can only describe as a very satisfied and contented look. We will definitely... More
