Just back from staying at the Park Guest House in Abergavenny with a bunch of fellow casual walkers. The rooms were very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome. The couple running the guest house were friendly and made our stay very pleasant. The location is good and an easy walk into the town centre for evening food... More

Made to feel welcome from the first phone call, friendly but not intrusive, and very flexible with arrangements. Rooms are well furnished, clean and with very comfortable beds. Lovely fresh cooked breakfast. A pleasant short walk through the park to the town centre. Don't hesitate to book, you will have a very pleasant stay.

Just back from a 4 night stay here. I thought it was lovely, very homely and comfortable. The owners were lovely, very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious made from local produce and the rooms were very cosy and nicely furnished - no flat screen TVs but that's not my top priority when looking... More

I agree with the previous reviewer, we stayed out of necessity at the time due to keeping a bedside visual at my fathers bedside at the nearby hospital . I would not stay at this establishment due to the unfriendliness - I would sleep in my car first. Having had such an unwelcoming stay, we stayed at the kings Arms,... More

Dear Anon, Many thanks for your posting. We are really sorry for the stressful time you have had and also for the fact that you were unhappy during your stay with us. However, we really feel that your comments mis-represent what happened. You originally booked a double room with us (2 people bed and breakfast) and by chance it was... More

We initially booked one night at the last minute when driving through Wales and liked it so much we decided to stay for an extra night! The owners were friendly, helpful and cooked a great breakfast. The locally sourced sausages and bacon were delicious. The location was great as it was a short walk into town which was big enough... More

The basin near your pillow and the toilet watching your bedroom. Kind staff and good breakfast but bad rooms.

I am really sorry you felt our rooms are bad. However, I do feel it is important to respond to your criticism as it does give a slightly skewed idea of the reality. Our house is many years old and before en-suite bathrooms were considered necessary, each room was equipped with a basin. The room you stayed in has the... More

Lovely old house, really comfortable rooms, great location and a delicious breakfast (using local produce). A great place for a cosy weekend away. Abergavenny is a super little town surrounded by beautiful countryside and an amazing number of good restaurants. Mandy and Tony Kromrei are lovely hosts. All in all - lovely!

We were very uncomfortable staying here due to the rudeness of the hosts and staff. On our initial days, our impressions were that they were friendly but as the days passed (we stayed here for almost two weeks) we got to experience how they really were. What made it even more uncomfortable were the arguing amongst the owners. Furthermore, they... More

This may sound like an odd reply, but are you sure you stayed at Park Guest House in Abergavenny? We have no record whatsoever of anyone staying for 2 weeks last November (2009)... If you did stay with us, in reponse to your comments, all rooms have duvets on the beds, and there are extra blankets and pillows in the... More
