The hotel has lovely views over the river, a good restaurant and nice staff. Room 203 has a small balcony overlooking the river. However the room and bathroom are very small. The heated towel rail in the bathroom would not turn off and consequently the room was also very hot. The shower had very poor water pressure. Despite these comments... More

My Husband and I were joined by 13 other family members and friends for a surprise Sunday Lunch for my cousin and wifes 50 Wedding Anniversary. We received a warm welcome by staff and it was arranged for us wait in the conservatory until cousin and wife arrived. Sunday Lunch is either 2 or 3 courses (your choice) found the... More

The hotel is friendly and the room functional and adequate with balcony views across wonderful open countryside. Breakfast has an excellent menu choice and is very good. The hotel allows access to the areas of surrounding natural beauty in the Sugar Loaf mountain, Llangors Lake and Pwll Frach water falls near Talgarth, a walker's paradise.

Me and my partner stayed here having got a deal off the internet. The views from the rooms with balconies are beautiful overlooking the river usk and the hills beyond really pretty. Considering the hotel is on a main road room was very quiet. Room itself was very clean. Bathroom was tiny! Bed was very uncomfortable could feel every spring... More

Stayed here for two nights while visiting relatives. Room was good, clean with everything we needed except for one thing which I find is missing in a lot of hotels - a grab rail for the shower; ok for youngsters but at 73 I need something to hold on to. The view from the balcony was amazing - river with... More

Room was good,- ie clean comfortable well maintained if a little small,- which we knew in advance of our visit. View to the river and beyond is superb but unfortunately is marred by the extreme scruffiness of the immediate frontage where even a sewage overflow had not been cleared up.This extreme untidyness is evident in all the surrounds of the... We stayed for 1 night whilst visiting a relative a few miles away and wished we had booked a couple more.small but well equipped room with balcony overlooking the river and beautiful countryside views.very friendly staff and fab breakfast.the late checkout of 12 o clock is great leaving you relaxed and unhurried.only downside was having an adjacent table scrubbed whilst... Definitely worth paying for the river view rooms - the scenery is spectacular. The rooms are small and basic and there was a curious odour in the hotel itself. The bathroom facilities are more than adequate. You get what you pay for and this hotel is great for an overnight stop. The breakfast is fantastic.

Booked a table for 4 on saturday evening, asked for and received a table by the window for the views over the river. We all chose from the set menu of 3 courses for around £23.00. Marinated sardines were excellent, sweet and sharp at the same time. My wife had a goats cheese dish which was very tasty. Ribeye steak... More
