The Kings Arms is a charming, welcoming and friendly residence. We stayed for 2 evenings in the beautiful attic sugarloaf suite. The sloping floorboards and unique staircase leading to the suite added to the buildings character which is steeped in 16th century history. Ideal for couples or families. We could not fault the staff especially Sasha who was an excellent... More

I stayed at this place with my girlfriend for 3 nights during August. The staff was most helpful and welcoming and tried to fulfill all requests asap. Our room was situated in the attic with an old charming decor. Both breakfast and dinner were of a very good quality but don't expect to be served a large amount of food.... More

My family and I recently stayed here over the August Bank Holiday. The pub is very old so dont be suprised when you find the floors sloping and you feel like you have had one too many...my husband and I were given a room in the loft which was really cosy. The only meal we had at the pub was... More

We come by go show and fortunately we got a room. It is the last room available that night. The manager and staff were very friendly. The hotel building was antique, it was built in 1650. Our room was in the corner of second floor. The wooden flor room was spacious, clean and well equipped.

Stayed here as a family in the family room and couldn't fault anything - room was comfortable and clean, we had dinner there one night and the food was really good, great atmosphere in the bar with some live music playing and the staff really friendly. Will be coming back !

Abergavenny is progressing neatly up the cool-country-town ladder, and this pub/hotel is one reason. Nicely kept beer (inc local breweries), v professional (and friendly) staff, very cool slate-and-reclaimed-wood bar, really excellent food (and not Hereford/Powys sized portions, thankfully). Went there once for Sunday lunch and were accidentally overcharged -- though the food was so good we didn't notice it --... More

I was struck by the excellent menu and the very pleasant staff. I had a ham and cheese omelette and my wife had welsh rarebit (cliche). The building is OLD and a very interesting place. So, food was good, enhanced by the staff and surroundings.

The Kings Arms has incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We visited in July and it was very hot. We were 'upgraded' to the attic, which is quirky but has low and very large beams that make access to bed, bath, toilet etc very challenging! The room has only one tiny window and being in the roof space is very hot... More

Stayed in the Blorenge room for a night to celebrate my husbands birthday - the room was lovely!! His and hers sinks in the bathroom aswel as a big jacuzzi tub! Nice Dove toiletries to use. Very large bedroom with kingsize bed (fabulous pillows), flatscreen tv and dvd player! Wonky floorboards and old beams add to the charm of this... More
