Visited here for a friends 40th and was pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service fantastic considering there were approximately 30 of us. It's a lovely pub and john and Sacha work extremely hard to give it such the good reputation it has. Have been here a couple of times since and we have always been impressed.

Fab décor and food. Lovely Sunday lunch, good portions sizes and fab food. Will visit again soon hopefully. Didn't stay so cannot comment on hotel facilities only food. If was to pick any faults it would be my meat was a little fatty for me (personal choice) and a little bit expensive.

Spent a couple of days here during the food festival. Had a great view of everything from room 2 which was spacious and nicely furnished. The hotel is perfectly located near the centre of everything, including the long stay car park by the castle. Never had the opportunity to try the evening meals, but breakfasts were nicely cooked and made... More

Visited Abergavenny and decided to use Tripadvisor to find somewhere good to eat. Chose Kings Arms and so pleased I did. We all thought the meals were lovely.and will definitely be returning for more. The handcut chips served with the beer battered fish were sooo good! (not everyone gets them crispy!) Quality of fish also excellent. Followed with a baked... More

Booked two nights for the Food Festival last weekend, we had the Blorenge Suite which was spacious, well decorated and so reasonably priced. Sacha and the team made us feel so welcome. It was such a busy weekend for them with restaurant, bars and serving street food but they just smiled throughout. We were so impressed we've booked for next... More

The owners and all staff were fantastic. Very welcoming. We were in room 8 this area had just been re-painted and decorated beautifully. The meals at this pub were to die for and the cauliflower soup (like puree) was absoloutely divine. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. It is a very quaint hotel with beautiful old... We stayed back in August, we were staying in Abergavenny for a wedding the next day. Our first room was cosy and clean, we arrived about tea time and went straight out for dinner. By the time we arrived back to our room the bars bank holiday weekend party was in full swing and was really loud as our room... More

The Kings Arms is a charming, welcoming and friendly residence. We stayed for 2 evenings in the beautiful attic sugarloaf suite. The sloping floorboards and unique staircase leading to the suite added to the buildings character which is steeped in 16th century history. Ideal for couples or families. We could not fault the staff especially Sasha who was an excellent... More

I stayed at this place with my girlfriend for 3 nights during August. The staff was most helpful and welcoming and tried to fulfill all requests asap. Our room was situated in the attic with an old charming decor. Both breakfast and dinner were of a very good quality but don't expect to be served a large amount of food.... More

My family and I recently stayed here over the August Bank Holiday. The pub is very old so dont be suprised when you find the floors sloping and you feel like you have had one too many...my husband and I were given a room in the loft which was really cosy. The only meal we had at the pub was... More
