This is our first visit to Abergavenny and will certainly be visiting again. The town is lovely and this hotel is just outside the main busy shopping centre. The hotel is charming and the staff welcoming. The bar and restaurant have a great atmosphere and the food is very good.

I knew nothing of Abergevenney - for some reason this wasn't my first choice, but we were so glad that fate ended up having us stay here, everyone is nice, rooms very comfortable, slightly and pleasantly quirky building, and food that is really exceptional

Came here for an function and spent one night. We simply loved it. Staff were extremely helpful, the bar cozy, and the rooms quirky. The breakfast was local produce and good. Would definitely come back again (perhaps in winter), and would recommend it to others.

The food on the menu is very good quality - I had a starter as a lite meal and it was absolutely perfect! Well done to the staff for their service and help! I would thoroughly recommend the establishment.

What a gem. A typical old boozer with an outstanding restaurant, a nice selection of very reasonably priced wines, local ales and Thursday night is curry night which put some Indian restaurants to shame! The rooms are full of character and comfortable. I was in room 6 which was nice apart from the noise from the late drinkers in the... More

My partner and I came here for a Saturday lunch a couple of weeks ago. The menu outside looked appealing and good value. The staff who greeted us were not unpleasant but were a little surly. It took a while for us to place our order even though the place wasn't busy. We were asked to order food before we'd... More

Went to the Kings Arms in Abergavenny for a drink last week and found the staff very friendly and the atmosphere fantastic. Good musicians too!! The menu looked interesting and will go for a meal next week.

Had a very comfortable overnight stay , we stayed in one of their standard doubles, room was a very good size , very tastefully decorated, clean and even better than the pictures on their website. With a bath shower , kingsize bed and large TV. It's a lovely building full of character, lovely old sloping oak floors, all clean and... More

We called in one early evening for a drink following a brisk walk. What a charming historic old coaching inn with low bowed ceilings. The menus, which haven't tried yet, looked appetising and good value. Their bedrooms are all individually decorated according to the website and they have themed nights. We will book a table for Sunday lunch next weekend.

Another evening when everything was running smoothly. The areas were kept clean and presentable. Mondays can be quiet so it was not busy as it can be on some weekends. Walking through town earlier on a car stopped to ask for directions. I found the couple sitting in the bar area enjoying a cup of coffee. They were in Abergavenny... More
