Booked this hotel as the closest accommodation I could get to Heineken cup final in Cardiff for my teenage son and I, so glad I did. Bedroom was clean and functional and as my son said "bed was so comfy". Host at breakfast, was very friendly and then served up one of the nicest breakfasts I've had for some time.... More

Stayed on a Saturday night and, contrary to some reviews, it was a very quiet stay in a room overlooking the main street. The hotel is in the centre of Abergavenny convenient for its shopping, sights and on market day the market indoor market starts next door with the outdoor market 50 metres away. The superior room was a good... More

On arrival we checked in easily and had a good laugh with the member of bar staff. The room was well appointed, very clean and well laid out. The en-suite bathroom was well fitted out, once again, very clean, with a bath, which I prefer. The hotel is centrally located, but has no parking of it's own. This is not... More

My wife and I stay at the Kings Head as often as we can. We live in the East Midlands but will drive to Abergavenny and stay here whenever we can. They even arranged everything for my wife's birthday. Very friendly people everywhere, good food in the 59. It is a very old building so don't expect a premier modular... More

Found the staff very friendly and relaxed which immediately put me at ease. Service was very efficient and responsive. The twin room was cosy and the age of the building gave it character while having all the modern amenities I would expect. A small negatve was the need to use two remotes (in specified sequence) to operate the TV. Unfortunately... More

I have seen some of the comments on here and cannot believe they are eating at the same place. I regularly along with my wife eat at this establishment and can honestly say I have never received a poor meal. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones or it may be that the ones that are complaining are over fussy.... More
