I stopped for one night on a business trip to Blaenavon and found the hotel ok.The bedroom was nothing special but perfectly clean and bed quite comfortable. The room was on the top floor with no lift and on the side of a main road, There was quite a bit of traffic noise early in the morning due to a road... Booked in here by work, arrived 10pm on Friday, to find karaoke and disco at full volume in bar. Had to close windows to block noise from street, bed was damp, whilst the mattress was thin and uncomfortable. Breakfast was ready for us at 07.45, which was a plus, and I'm sure it would have been very good, had we... More

Lovely room nice touch having a tea pot in the room rather than just tea bags and cups. Room clean and warm. Hotel is on the high street sadly no parking, but car park nearby. We were lucky to park on the street right outside because we stayed on a Saturday. Breakfast choice is good and the full Welsh was filling... More

Spacious, pleasantly furnished & decorated room at front of building with 2 windows onto delightful main street of Abergavenny. Not quite enough attention paid to keeping room sufficiently comfortable: missing light bulb in desk/dressing table lamp & generally diabolical lighting, no proper over-bath shower - just an old-fashioned hand held unit & a very thin, uncomfortable mattress on the bed... We have been going to the Kings Head for a number of years, but not of late, and have always had good food at a reasonable price. We have quite recently had a little dog,and now when we go out we like to take her. Before going to Abergavenny last saturday,we searched online for Dog Friendly places to eat. The Kings... More

Booked this hotel as the closest accommodation I could get to Heineken cup final in Cardiff for my teenage son and I, so glad I did. Bedroom was clean and functional and as my son said "bed was so comfy". Host at breakfast, was very friendly and then served up one of the nicest breakfasts I've had for some time.... More

Stayed on a Saturday night and, contrary to some reviews, it was a very quiet stay in a room overlooking the main street. The hotel is in the centre of Abergavenny convenient for its shopping, sights and on market day the market indoor market starts next door with the outdoor market 50 metres away. The superior room was a good... More

On arrival we checked in easily and had a good laugh with the member of bar staff. The room was well appointed, very clean and well laid out. The en-suite bathroom was well fitted out, once again, very clean, with a bath, which I prefer. The hotel is centrally located, but has no parking of it's own. This is not... More
