my husband and I went for a quiet drink at the Anglesey arms the same night as the coke lorry was in town. It was lovely to see how much effort the landlords had put into the evening ..face painting, mince pies, sweets etc..They gave us mulled wine and brought out a lovely selection of cheese and crackers. The ambience... More

The views, setting and position for visiting Caernarfon and Snowdonia from The Anglesey Arms was perfect. Having usually camped as a family of 4, we thought a B & B stay would be a new/ luxurious experience for visiting Snowdonia (2 adults and 2 boys under 8).The breakfast was good, sharing the bathroom is not ideal. Room 1 was the... More

Visited recently with four friends and were embarrassed by what we found. The scroll type menu's were filthy and clearly hadn't be cleaned in a long time. Two burgers that were served were red raw and cold inside - really worrying that! The Barman who described himself as an 'ex-Para from London way' had an attitude that can only be... More

Had a lovely meal here with our Four Children and was made very welcome by the staff who catered for all our needs. The food we had was very nice and good value and there was a nice selection of tables inside.. The sticky toffee pudding is very nice. Outside the Pub there are some seats with a lovely view... A popular pub at the entrance to the harbour with car parking for four vehicles. An amazing view of the Menai Strait. The B&B facilities are in need of much TLC. The corridor carpet was ingrained with dirt and the bedroom carpet was sadly in need of a strong shampoo. The shared shower and toilet were inadequate for the number... More

This was a perfect find, as a stop over between camp sites we were so happy too find this b&b. Breakfast was an amazing fare. Be aware that it is a pub and so late nights with music do go ahead, but if your'e happy to join in its a great little stop over. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Stunning sunny evening and a few beers over looking the harbour outside a beautiful old pub. That's where the Anglesey Arms charms end. We ordered food. My heart sank as I unrolled the "Treasure Map" menu... I was there for work, so not my call. The menu sounded pretty bleak, several types of burger, my companions all had variations of... More

You could not get nearer to one of the UK's finest historic monuments. This hotel actually abuts Caernarfon Castle. There's a very pleasant view across the port and out into the Menai Straits. Such a shame, therefore, that the furnishings, décor and facilities have been allowed to age and deteriorate. A complete refurbishment is needed. En-suites to replace the shared... More
