After 24 hours of walking, we staying here as a group of 18, it was - hot food, comfy beds and great staff! Excellent place to stay! I would recommend staying here if you are in the area or if you are doing the 3 peak challenge Particular thanks to the chef who turned around a great meal and let... More

I recently stayed there at the end of completing the 3 peaks challenge in a group of around 20. By the time we arrived it was 9pm and had missed dinner. The manager went out of his way to make us food and within the hour had prepared much needed hot food for 20 which was homemade and tasty. The... More

I stayed here after finishing the 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday evening and it was bloody brilliant. It was just a short drive from Snowdon and, despite arriving later than planned due to a minibus breakdown, the service that we received was first class. There was a group of more than 20 of us and we were all pretty excited.... More

I drove to Bryn Gwynant from Capel Curig and so had seen the valley where Llyn Gwynant lies coming over the pass. Stunning is the only word for it. The hostel lies towards the far end of the lake but before the village itself. There is great access to the lake and the walking track the takes you around it... More

I spent two nights at Bryn Gwynant last week. My plan was to climb three peaks in the Bedgelert region. The Hostel was ideally placed so I booked, never having used this Hostel before. Firstly, the location was absolutely stunning, to think that someone actually owned such a place at one time as a place to live is unbelievable. The... More

As all the other reviews here have pointed out the owners were lovely, bubbling with personality and hugely welcoming. It is a shame however that they have to work in a hostel that for some reason the YHA don't appear to consider worthy of investment. The picturesque location, beautiful building, and surrounding mountains generate opportunity for a wonderful facility, but... More

Stayed for 2 nights end of February 2014 with 2 friends for our MTB attack on Snowdon. First time ever YHA'ing at middle age so didn't know what to expect. Place was fantastic. Beautiful old building, Staff were extremely helpful and friendly (Corina and Simon who went over and beyond the call of duty to appease our constant begging /... More

Its want you want from a hostel. Can't do enough for you staff, really friendly, look after you. Clean bedding, quiet room for a good nights sleep on a reasonable bed. Powerful shower to wake you up in the morning followed by a decent breakfast, cereal, juice, tea, cooked breakfast. Then if you booked up for a 2nd night, soup,... More

The tree lined driveway takes you upto the main house which is located with stunning views to the lake opposite the house and the surrounding mountains gives this house a majestic feel. However, the interior doesn't quite live upto similar expectations. It's in need of a major overhaul, the bunk beds are too small for an adult to sleep comfortably.... More

Stayed here recently for 3 night for a planned ascent of Snowdon via the Rangers Path. The setting and views were amazing. Room and communal areas a in very good conditions, as expected. The manager, Corina, was brilliant, helpful and very funny. Look forward to visiting again!
