This was a first visit to Wales (and to Bangor) for my wife and I, travelling to visit some of my family roots. Wanting to be right in town, I chose Y Garth. Indeed, the location is great- just a short walk from everything, including the beautiful Bangor Pier. But more that the great location, the room was spotlessly clean... More

This was our first stay in Bangor and at Y Garth and we hope to come back to both. Les arranged a ground floor room (easier for wheelchair) and picked us up from the station. The room was large as was the breakfast. Les and Rita were very helpful and recommended places to eat (two of which - the Spile... More

We arrived to find that the type of room ready for us was wrong. We were offered a cup of tea while they sorted it out which never materialised. We were made to feel like we were in the wrong, treated in a very strange manner like a couple of kids. The order for breakfast was wrong and the quality... More

I have become a regular at Les and Rita's. They are always helpful and jolly. If you need anything just ask and they will find a way to accommodate you. Lovely people. Place always clean and well kept. Could use free wi-fi but then I want to rest!

Our stay was a very restful and a very pleasant experience. We arrived late in the evening and Les was very helpful and rang around to find a place that would still serve us with food at that time, (and his choice of place could not be faulted). Les and his wife were very good hosts and nothing was too... More

After booking a double en-suite room in May for October for 2 nights was disgusted on arrival to met at the door by the daughter (with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth) Was led up the dingy dark stairs to a room at the front of the house with 3 single beds spread around the dirty looking room. We... More

Les and Rita are two of the nicest hosts that i have had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing is too much trouble to them, and they are always at hand to help you with almost anything. Rita's hearty breakfasts are second to none. Over breakfast, you are treated to Les' sense of humour, jokes, and charisma. Over a period of... More
