Stayed 2 nights with 6 other members of my family ranging in age from 8 to 70. I booked the triple (3) and the family rooms (4). The family room was OKish but the triple (No 9) was awful. I expected 3 beds in there - triple room! Instead an extra bed had been put in there making it very... More

We were charged £75 for one night B&B now we are both large people and the bed was a 3/4 so no comfort, no light bulb in the main ceiling light so only had one little side light, smelt fusty in the room it was over priced for what it was should have been £35 at most, this is our... More

Stayed here for one night with a group of friends before going zip lining. Staff were pleasant enough but communal stairs and doors were extreamly noisey. Toilet was hard to flush and rooms are by no means sound proofed. It was fine for one night but i would not fancy staying any longer. The place ideally needs a face lift.... More

I booked three rooms at the Waverley Hotel and also booked for Hotel to provide food and drinks for 30 persons. The owner of the hotel was the most pleasing hotelier I have come across in a long time. Nothing was to much trouble for (Hayley the owner) I found Hayley to be very pleasant and charming and would recommend... More

Rough and ready! It was ok for us on a stag party but wouldn't fancy it with the family. The staff are really friendly but the hotel needs a lot of work. Punch holes in the doors and the bacon sandwich we were offered for breakfast was inedible. Great for a stag but not good for anything else. Sorry I... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. Our stag party groups are booked through an events operator company which we have specific allocated rooms at the hotel to suit the needs of stag party groups at highly discounted rates. The company is aware of the room arrangements and what we provide at the hotel for their... More

Visited here for there weekly grill Night and had the homemade Kofta with a side salad and homemade chips.Despite the Kofta being spicy it was delicious and came with a homemade garlic mayonnaise dip..All the ingredients are locally sourced and freshly made to order. You don't mind waiting when it tastes that good..Keep up the good work

Bar Food really good value & best Homemade Chips ever! We stayed as had arranged Charity Zip-wire, so it's a good location is... More

The first visit was great in every way. The second visit was generally problematic. I was travelling solo, and asked for a single. They put me in (and charged me for) a double that even they admitted was rather small for a double and they'd advise me of it if I was part of a couple booking in there. The... More

Hayley M, Manager at The Waverley Hotel Bangor, responded to this review

Dear guest, Having looked at our booking in forms, we didn't charge you for a double at all - we simply didn't have any singles left, and so put you in our double occupancy room (Room 5) which we charged you single occupancy, based on our tariff prices found on our website. The bed itself isn't a single, and is... More

Where to begin.. The guy at the front of house complained about being there "I'm not even supposed to be here now" were his initial words. His ability to communicate was limited, let alone any decent customer service. The building downstairs has a very dark interior both in terms of the decor, and the lack of natural light. Luckily our... More
