Just returned from a lovely weekend break in Aberystwyth. The Gwesty Cymru is a small, independent hotel. Its very well appointed, very modern and stylish, while still using the character of the building and the location its situated in. The staff were excellent. I do wonder when they sleep as the manager was on site from early breakfast until late... More

Stayed at the Gwesty Cymru for two nights. We had a marvellous room with a big window overlooking the promenade. The hotel is small, but has everything you need for a short break. There is no lounge, but we didn't find this a problem as our room had two lovely chairs in the window looking out to sea. The designer... More

On the first weekend of September we stayed here for a long weekend. We stayed in room three where the view wasn't that great as we were looking over peoples gardens, these people were also having work done on their homes so it was noisy at times! This obviously wasn't the hotels fault though! The bathroom was our favourite part... More

We stayed in August for my birthday - a family of four. We had two rooms, breakfast and an evening meal. It was expensive but, for a treat, worth it. The hotel is on Marine Terrace across the road from the sea. Service was professional and friendly. We had a sea view room (Room 1) with leather chairs at the... More

This was a family lunch on a Sunday. As the only negative the first sitting is from 12noon which is a bit soon after breakfast. Anyway, the restaurant is bright and airy, contemporary design, menu that is well laid out and clearly described in English and Welsh. We were promptly attended to and the drinks were not long coming. Service... More

3 night stay in room 6. Great view of the sunset whilst enjoying a glass of wine in the bath! Room average size but lovely to relax sat in armchairs in the bay window watching the holiday makers on the promenade. Breakfast is very good although service could be quicker and waitress needs to be 'warmer' and more welcoming. This... More

The traditional seafront holiday hotel seems to be a dying breed, but the owners of this hotel seem to have rejuvenated the concept successfully. Not a cheap option, by any means, but this has the feeling of an upscale boutique hotel on a small and friendly scale. The influence of an interior designer is obvious in the architectural radiators (I... More

Gwesty gorau Aberystwyth heb os nac oni! Aberystwyth's best hotel! Great location! Rooms are modern, spacious, tasteful and comfortable. Superb food at breakfast, lunch and dinner - and a very warm Welsh welcome! Great spot to sit and watch the world go by! Would return tomorrow if I had the chance!

Very nice hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast equally so. Free wi-fi could do with a stronger signal as it nearly dies when closing the door to the room.Apart from that, highly recommended

We stayed for one night in August in the Green room. A small room, but well appointed but hotter than the Sahara! The window was closed shut on arrival but opening it didn't seem to make much difference. There were two fans in the room and we had one of them going all night but we were still BOILING! The...
