We stayed at the Queensbridge,Hotel in Aberystwyth in Wales for one night. Service was good as we arrived late around 8.30pm. The owner came and gave a price different to his repectionist (phoned earlier). The manager was aggressive and rude towards us, but negoitated a good rate for the place. Shocking When we got to the hotel our first room was not just shabby but half of the roof had fallen in in the bathroom, yet apparently had been cleaned that day (how they missed half of the ceiling on the floor is beyond me!) This place was recommended by local tourist office staff. On seafront promenade (quite a walk from town centre). Was given dire warning about the operation of the lift (sensors would do something awful if I didnt flatten myself against the back wall of the lift). Dear me.... The Queensbridge offers "superior comfort". My single room, overlooking the fire-escape had a huge patch of mould by the window, the wallpaper behind the radiator was peeling off, the carpet had holes in it and it was impossible to get a decent TV reception on any of the channels. Queensbridge hotel More of B&B than hotel. Nice location, on seafront. Bar ? a small fridge and expensive.
