I stayed at Nanteos for 5 days with my husband and daughter. I wanted to review it as it is a rather strange place. It sells itself as a five star hotel, but I'm at a loss to see how that can be true. The hotel itself is surrounded by pretty parkland, but the areas close to the house are... More

Spent two nights here in August. The room (Dyfi) was very pleasant with fine views. Dinner was included in our deal and we were particularly impressed with the vegetarian offerings as well as the range of choice. Breakfast was excellent particularly the sausages and bacon. I am sure that I could find fault with a few things if I tried... More

Our expectations were high, country house quality in lovely countryside. No! The grounds are grass and overgrown unkempt trees. So much more could be delivered in the empty walled garden and the dining room's vista is particularly dank. Staff need a wake up. From arrival to dinner a good kick required, buck up. The room was ground floor out the... More

Nanteos Mansion us in a wonderful setting and the building is charming. However we came away wondering if it was run for the benefit of the staff rather than the customers. Here are some examples. The coffee machine didn't work in our room so we called for help. A young man came straight away. He asked us how the machine... More

My partner and I stayed at Nanteos Mansion last Saturday night with our dog following a trip to climb Snowdon. We were given a very friendly welcome and shown to our room and brought a fresh pot of tea. Our room was Elan - accessed via a courtyard. The room was beautifully decorated - minor niggle that it was a... More

Nanteos Mansion is a wonderful hotel set in beautiful grounds, surrounded by outstanding countryside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You feel at home the minute you arrive. Despite it's grandeur, it is homely, welcoming and extremley comfortable The room was beautiful with lots of thoughtful extras to make the stay very special. The vegan breakfast was the best... More

Visiting on summer vacation the Nanteos Mansion was a superb stay. Lovely accommodation and grounds, but mostly memorable because of the superb service. We travelled with a disabled person who received special attention without the awkwardness sometimes accompanying the service. Particularly Matt understood how to make the evening and morning special with his care and humour - thank you for... More

A group of us came to the mansion to have afternoon tea to celebrate my sister's PhD. We were slightly later than our booking and I rang ahead to apologise and say we were on our way and they were lovely about it. It has a lovely long driveway and is very scenic and then you come upon this gorgeous... More

We went as a party of ten for afternoon tea on a Friday afternoon, as part of a graduation celebration. We were met at the door by the first of many lovely staff members (with particular mention for The Lovely Matt, who was our main waiter and put up with our high spirits and constant questions and mickey-taking very well... Nanteos is stunningly beautiful and expertly renovated. The staff greeted us in a warm and friendly way and the rooms were a delight. BUT. The meal was rather disappointing in that out waiter was obviously untrained, rather shabbily dressed and we waited nearly 20 minutes for our wine and had to complain The food was good and the subsequent service...
