The quality of the food was generally good but at just under £25 (without wine) many of our party were vocal about expecting more than the tiny portions they received (for some reason, those who opted for the turkey had more than most). Most main courses included very few vegetables. Tiny portions may seem classy but most restaurants would serve... More

Room was nice and cosy. Not the usual modern 'cold' bedroom.. Modern tv on the wall, free wi-fi and lots of lights.. Was in the back of the hotel, so heard the various noises coming from the carpark area but hey... The food was very nice but not a lot on your plate, so beware when ordering, it's not the... More

All in all a lovely stay at this beautifully situated seaside hotel. The room (14) was well sized, with an almost perfect view of the Winter's Waves crashing on the seafront. Not as modern as some hotels but this added to its charm. It did however have TV, WiFi, double glazed sash windows, small setee, plenty of storage and a... More

With stunning views and staggeringly good food and service combined with ( of course ) the wonderful people - what's to complain about .., ok I can moan about the antiquated decor but there's always a flip side. The architecture is important and as a seaside location it's got to up there . Cant praise the staff enough and it's... More

Stayed one night as a last minute booking. Ground floor of hotel nice and modern. We stayed in room 34 which is dated and could do with a make over much sooner the later with wall paper on th bathroom ceiling starting to peel and tiling from the 90s Breakfast in the morning was good quality but the vegetarian cooked... Stayed one night - in a room towards the back without a sea view. The rooms are OK for the price and the breakfasts are quite good (vegetarian lacks a veggie sausage). My room had three beds so was large and rather cold in December... would be a good family room in warmer weather! Ask for a sea view if... More

Several reviews have been critical of the dated decor. There are new owners who are gradually renovating the place and obviously spending lots of money on it. The transformation is gradual and not all rooms have been done yet. OK, our room had dated fittings but the bed was large and comfortable and the fittings/floors were spotless. The large bathroom... The hotel is really not in the 21st century. The rooms are out dated. The reception staff were pleasant but until the hotel is modernised it's not somewhere i'd return. It was clean, however it wasn't for me. The staff did advise the hotel is due to be refurbished, upon completion I'm sure it'll appeal to far more travellers.

We stayed here for a reunion weekend and really enjoyed it. Our room was pleasant with a fabulous sea view to die for. Had all the mod cons that we have come to expect. The staff were brilliant and very friendly although I have to admit breakfast was chaotic as there had been a coach party in - but hey... More

The rooms are dated though one of the owners family members said they were working to update the hotel. We had a huge room overlooking the ocean, cleanish but old. Breakfast was good. We did not have dinner, founf the menu very five star and expensive. We ate at the pub on the pier. Excellent location for the hotel.
