Very welcoming ,our room was in the top and had sloping ceilings which was very low but for us it gave more character.Would reccomend for a romantic getaway. Food in the restaurant was piping hot and absoloutley delicious. Our very fussy daughter met us for dinner and had steak, she said it was so tasty and tender. The fire was a... More

This is a lovely inn situated close to Great Malvern and was my final stop of the week. My room was in the converted attic and had everything i required including free wi-fi. However, if you are a six footer like myself, you have to look out for low beams and doorways (ouch!) After completing the regular round of paperwork,... More

Many thanks for your review after your stay. Comments both positive and negative are useful to everyone running a hostelry, of any size, and is especially welcome from experienced travellers. I have taken note of the points mentioned which are already benifitting subsequent guests. If vacant, you must stay in 'Gold Room' on your next visit. It has a super... More

Called at this pub en-route from Devon to Leeds today just in time for a delicious lunch. Had read about the Walter in a good pub guide so didn't come across it by accident. On the face of it a small nondescript little place, the only menu on view was for a Burn's Night in January?! However, once inside we... More

I have stayed at the Walter de Cantelupe Inn a couple of times now when travelling on business. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The food is excellent and there are usually some good real ales on offer. It is conveniently located for activities in Great Malven and surroundings. They have free WiFi which, when I used it, was... We were after somewhere to go for a relaxing night away from home, and that's exactly what we found. Food in pub great, really good choice of decent beer (and whisky!): landlord/owner made us feel very welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble. Regretted not going for the full English breakfast, but continental ok - lots of local produce. A... More

This hotel is quaint, welcoming and traditional. A comfortable stay and very friendly staff. Room was a good size and well equipped. Breakfast was sourced from local produce and was a great start to the day. Location was good, a quiet road with pleasant surroundings, ideal for a trip to the Malvern Hills. Would stay here again!

Great find if you want somewhere to stay that's individual and welcoming. The landlord is gregarious and ensures that he takes the time to chat with locals and visitors alike. The food on offer is not your usual run of the mill pub chain fare but imaginative and unique dishes all written up on a blackboard daily. Fresh, local ingredients... More

Were in Kempsey for a 2 night family get together & chose the Walter de Cantelupe for its convenient location near to our relatives. The Inn was excellent - room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Both the owner & the locals made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay here again on future visits to Kempsey.

What a little gem! The Walter is a perfect place to stay, relax and get to know the character of the area. I travel a lot with work and get totally bored of bland accommodation. It's not often I review where I stay but having been recommended this place by a colleague I wanted to share this treat. The interior... More
