An English couple from Sheffield choosing a fine old coaching inn with a good reputation and plenty to do to meet our friends from America who are going onto a summer course in Oxford. One room changed as the one allocated is surrounded by noisy exhausts from the kitchens and other roofs. We were allocated a superior room in the... More

we took advantage of a special weekend DB&B break. We have always wanted to stay at the Lygon Arms since our neighbours recommended it over 20 years ago! of course it is now part of a chain hotel so we had our reservations. The reception greeting was warm and friendly and although the hotel was full, they had plenty of... More

It's 11:30 at night and I had to call the front desk to shut down the party outside our window. The hotel has no air conditioning so you have to leave the windows open and the large party of 50 people in the courtyard were rowdy enough to keep us awake. We didn't realize how bad this was because we... More

I am very sorry that this guest seems to have had so many issues during their stay for which I can only apologise most sincerely. The weather was extremely hot which resulted in all guests needing windows open, all over the hotel. As a grade two listed building we are not allowed to install air con or secondary glazing to... Booked a spa break deal for dinner, bed and breakfast and a one hour spa treatment (had facial which was divine). Room was nice and comfortable, a bit hot as there is no air conditioning and you can't fully open the window but no other complaints. Dinner was lovely, missed breakfast unfortunately as had to get away early. Staff very... More

Quaint and old it might be but perhaps a little too old world for,my liking. The room was fine and the service very good, but I don't like the idea of being greeted with the first question being " do you want to upgrade?" And the second "do you want to book for dinner?" It was only midday and we... More

The exterior, dining room, and lounge areas are beautifully historic. The bedrooms are OK and comfy, but not great. Unfortunately the water and electricity were out for a few hours. Broadway is a little out of the way and not too interesting.

The Lygon Arms is a stunning hotel, full of character and a relaxing weekend away. My husband booked this as my birthday present and we went with our 8 month old baby girl. The hotel accommodated our little girl very well and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, in fact all the staff were very friendly and helpful.... More

I have never had so much trouble with a hotel in my life. The staff are complacent and staggeringly incompetent. All I wanted to do is pay for my reservation and confirm that everything is in order. I've received mismatched invoices, and, having had to exchange several emails and speak over the phone at least half a dozen times over... More

A good value deal through Amazon in an old-fashioned but comfortable upmarket hotel in the beautiful Cotswolds. Worth the upgrade to a premium room with a large and firm four-poster bed and lots of room and furniture. Good sized telly and beautifully up to date bathroom. Staff all friendly but smart and confident.

This is a beautiful old hotel with plenty of character, there are so many places to explore in this hotel, we stayed here for 2 nights on B/B basis. Loved the antiques and tapestries throughout the hotel. Our room was sizeable and the bed was comfortable, bathroom was fine - only downside was that the room and this part of... More
