As a former butler myself, and having worked for one of the previous owners of The Lygon Arms, I was keen to take friends there for lunch one day. What a dissapointment. We were led to a bar, and sat down, that was probably the best 'service' we had all day. We ordered bottled water, wine, and 4 lunches. Glasses... more

I have just retuned from a weekend at The Lygon Arms at Broadway. I was a little concerned about the mixed bag of reviews but need not have worried. I had a room in the annex overlooking a lovely courtyard. On arrival during a heavy rain storm, we were met by a doorman with a huge umberella who took our... more

Beautiful hotel, I stayed in one of the older rooms, and I thought it was absolutely stunning. My room even had a huge fireplace in it. Everything very clean, and spacious for 2, never mind just me. Downside was that the floorboards constantly creak - but that can't be helped in such an old building! Staff seemed helpful, despite other... more

We stayed at the hotel for two nights and booked the hotel on its reputation as well as its location, despite the expense. The Spa was also a big plus for a stay in England in late October! Our room (54) was too warm and bathroom not particularly clean. The spa was shut for both days of our stay and... more

We'd booked the hotel through last minute and were looking forward to our break. When we arrived no one helped with luggage, checkin was inpersonal and the hotel staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. We felt that throughout our stay they looked down on us (we are in late 20's but look a lot younger). The swimming pool and spa... more

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for my 30th birthday. We had a delightful room, situated in Orchard Cottage, complete with a stunning (and huge!) 4 poster bed. Little touches such as private parking for residents in the cottage only made it that little bit special. Staff were very friendly, and extremely helpful. Being 7 months pregnant, they... more

Had booked a deluxe double room back in August 2009 for October visit for my boyfriends birthday. Despite the cost being quite high (200 for room only advance sale), I chose this hotel because of the facilities and the location. I had specifically asked for a modern deluxe room because of seeing other reviews on this site and reminded the... more

We stayed at The Lygon for only 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were great, the maitre de was outstanding small in stature big in professionalism. The rest of the staff were courtious and helpful definately go again. Food and drink on the heavy side but you check it out first. Recommend it well done Bacelo. more

We stayed for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and booked a Deluxe Double requesting to be in the old part of the hotel. When we arrived there was no concierge waiting to park our car but when we wheeled our cases into reception they took our keys and parked the car for us (in a car park round a... more

Be wary of this hotel. It's in a beautiful location and looks great. Until, that is, they stick you one of the modern annexe rooms. It's not that these rooms are bad, far from it, but in terms of value for money it's plainly not worth it. The room was utterly bog standard. The radiator didn't work. For £90-100, it... more
