I can see why this hotel has generated a mix of very positive and very negative reviews. The building is a magnificent and rambling two-storey country house, built of Cotswold stone that glows a beautiful gold in the evening sun. When we arrived, we were enchanted by the exterior, the grounds and the location (right next-door to the church and... more

From the minute you arrive at the gates to the hotel you can tell it will be a memorable holiday. On driving up the gravel drive to the hotel the butler ran out to get our bags, The hotel itself dates from 13th century and is beautifully constructed in a wonderful locatoin. Max the labrador welcomed us, and the receptionist... more

The hotel was in a very convenient location for travelling around the northern Cotswolds, in a very attractive house and setting. The interior was also very tastefully furnished, in keeping with the building, and had pleasant lounge areas with proper log fires. Our room was large, with a view of the garden, the bed very comfortable, and like the rest... more

We are a family of 4 who just returned from a 5 nite stay. This was the most remarkable hotel experience we ever experienced. ROOMS: We stayed in the Fountain Room which was a gorgeous room for my husband and me with an adjoining smaller room with twin beds for our teenagers. The room was well appointed with beautiful furnishings,... more

We had reserved a room two months before arrival , requesting by phone "a room with a great view". How disappointing to find we had been assigned the GARDEN room overlooking the parking area on the ground floor. The patio had no furniture on it "for drinks" as advertised on line, and it was right next to the car park... more

We stayed for 3 nights mid week and under their Autum offer, we paid for 2 and received the 3rd free. The hotel is fantasitic. Each room is different. We stayed in Aivery. It was a large room overlooking the beautiful garden. The bathroom was large with a bath big enough for 2. The first night we ate in hotel.... more

We stayed for two nights to mark my husband’s birthday and everything went well from the moment we stopped the car outside the main entrance to the moment that we left. Our room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable and attractively furnished (some very grand curtains), as were the bar and the lounge also well furnished with glossy magazines. Staff attention... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in early July 2008, using the Relais and Chateux' "3 nights for the price of 2" promotion. I'd emailed the hotel several times before arrival, asking about activities, excursions, and dining in Broadway. (The restaurant they recommended, Russell's of Broadway, was excellent--see my review). In one email, I'd mentioned a desire for few stairs.... more

We stayed at Buckland Manor for 1 night in the spring. The experience was delightful, making us feel like we had somehow stepped into an episode of Masterpiece Theatre. The house, which I believe dates to the 14th or 15th century has been beautifully and effortlessly modernised, so that you don't have to sacrifice creature comforts of good water pressure... more
