This was one of the worst B and B's I have stayed in, from the reception staff, who were unsure to what they were doing, through the "tired" decor, the dirty sheets and the hair in the shower to the insufficient "continental", make it yourself breakfast, consisting of boxed cereal, bread, tea and pain au chocolat, served on torn-off J-cloths.... When staying here, guests should be realistic. Yes, it is not a 5* experience, but neither is it priced like one. As to whether I would recommend it, as other reviewers have commented, it depends entirely on the purpose of the visit. For a family holiday no, as a base in the town after a night out, yes. However, that... More

My friends and I felt the desire to extract ourselves from the hustle and bustle of the Big City, and were delighted to stumble upon the hospitable establishment that is Oscar's Lodge. Clean, spacious room and incredibly close to the centre of Windsor. The Ritz Hotel it is not, it is more reminiscent of the eponymous cracker; simple, moisture-free and... More

As others have said on here you have to be realistic. Windsor has to be one of the most expensive towns in the UK. I was going on a works night out and only spent 6 hours in the room, why pay more? Anything else in Windsor was at least 3 times the price. Parking is free, its 10 minutes... More

Turned up and the place looked dirty from the word go, on navigating the stair there was paint peeling off the walls in huge 2ft sections...even the paint was trying to leave this place!! the room was TINY and the stains on the ceiling were horrific, as though farm yard animals had been urinating in the room above me, the... When staying at Oscar Lodge you have to be realistic and put things into perspective. Windsor is never cheap to stay in at any time, and when there are events on at the Castle or close by all hotels and B&B's increase their prices. This is the second time I've stayed at Oscar Lodge, and unless the prices increase would... More

We were traveling with my son and my husband on bikes. It was extremely rainy and cold and all our clothes was wet. The hostess immediately switched on the heating in our room, cleaned and dried our clothes, brought us hot tea with out any additional charge. Though the hotel is rather old inside, the rooms are big and comfortable.

When I read reviews on here I take what is written carefully, especially when the hotel appears to be great value for money. Oscars Lodge is cheap but not cheerful. Sadly the hotel is very run down and unclear. Basic provisions such as towels, communal areas, beds and rooms were all of very poor quality. With regret, I would advise... More

We stayed at the "hotel" for 2 nights, it was dirty & very unpleasant - it was cheap however I still wouldn't expect it to be so unkept & have such a rude owner. We didn't book breakfast which was a relief!
