This is the second time we have stayed at the Sir Christopher Wren and again it exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and attentive without being bothersome (you do have to ask for a check). It is convenient to everything.......train, castle, shopping, and Eaton. You can be busy with the sights or sit on the patio, relax and watch... more

We stayed here overnight for our wedding anniversary. I cannot understand all the negative reviews about this hotel. We were looked after very well by all the staff during our stay. Our standard room was lovely and had a balcony overlooking Eton Bridge and the river. We had dinner at Stroks and that was great, the weather allowed us to... more

I stayed here on a spa package with my mum. Location of the hotel was great and although the look is slightly dated, it has certain charm. Our room was on the second floor, which was a little struggle as my mother is not the youngest anymore. But the staff carried our bags up and back down again on leaving,... more

My partner and I decided to escape London for the weekend and chose to visit Windsor for its historical charm and short train journey from Paddington! We spent the first night at The Harte and Garter Hotel which was splendid. Unfortunately, they did not have any vacancies for the next night so thought we would try the Sir Christopher Wren.... more

date of visit 3rd may 2009 stayed in room 25 right at the top of the hotel the room should be refurbished before letting out again . the room was dark, dingy, smelly depressing with a bed that defies sleeping. the room was a disgrace to the reputation of sir christopher wren. more

Clearly this hotel hasn't been redocrated since Christopher Wren died. Stayed last Saturday 18th April. Stayed in Room 31 in an "Executive" Double Room. Walked in and greeted by an overwhlming stench. Decor was probably attempting the Olde world look but just about scraped the squallor look, Carpet was old and dirty. Roof had leek and water marks all over... more

We stayed at the hotel for business and then returned one week later for a single night. I had my family travelling with me and paid ~$400/night Cdn for a suite/room. Was very disappointed to find small beetles in the bathroom (tub and bathroom floor). While they moved us to another room they were not willing to compensate in any... more

My husband and I really wanted to stay in one of the hotels next to the castle but the price different was amazing, so we chose this hotel next to the river. When we got there we realised that the castle is only a stones throw away anyway and from the entrance of the hotel you can see the Castle... more

Great hotel in a perfect position on the river. Windsor is a beautiful town, and the hotel is located in the quieter part of the town, on the bridge over to Eton. Our hotel room was fabulous, witha patio door out to a small balcony overlooking the river. Room was modern, light and spacious, and bathroom had molton brown toiletries and... more

The hotel is an old house that has been converted so it is an expereince to find your room. We were in room 26 which was on the top floor and required us to negotiate almost 60 steps - so a little bit of a chore with luggage. The room was small with a bed that was more like a... more
