I have stayed at the Castle Hotel on a number of occasions, including one stay of several weeks. The hotel is in an ideal location on the high street in Windsor, in easy walking distance of Windsor Castle, the train station, and many of Windsor's restaurants and shops. Having stayed here for an extended period of time, I came to... more

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights on a B&B + evening meal on one night basis. Everything was fine and the provision of a fridge in the room was a boon. Breakfasts were very good with a more than ample selection of food. Had the evening meal on the Saturday which was really good. I have eaten some good... more

Stayed at the Castle for 3 nights in May ‘09 after reading reviews on TA. In my opinion this is not 4 star, definitely only 3 star. Hotel room was small, dark and smelt really musty. Bathroom size was a joke ! You could only fit 1 person at a time in there, had to squeeze between the sink and... more

Stayed at the Castle Windsor for one night in May 09 as we were attending a wedding locally. I have to say that in my view the hotel only just earns its 4 star rating (it felt like a 3 star). I wasn't particularly impressed with the decor (yes I know it has to be in keeping with the hotel).... more

Stayed here with my wife and two young boys after being subjected to the purgatory that is legoland windsor! A very calm and well run hotel, we did not have the gucci rooms on the front as we needed two interconnecting so were in the modern annexe to the rear - rooms were fine and the overall decor of the... more

Just had a lovely weekend at the Castle Hotel, everything very good. Staff pleasant and helpful, Breakfasts excellent. Would certainly visit a Mecure hotel again if the standards are as high as this one was, knocks spots off some of the other popular Hotel chains. Visit Castello in Church Street ( just over the road from the Hotel) for good... more

Our room was gorgeous and this hotel is in the most perfect location. If you get a room facing the street, you just might get a great view of the soldiers coming up the road for the changing of the guard. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the meal was fantastic. The staff at the restaurant were great...the staff... more

I stayed here for Valentines with my partner. We had a lovely room which although not huge was very cosy and decorated in a very english manner which was cool, rather than trying to make it trendy. Its a stones throw from the castle and ideally located on main street (not much noise from outside and we faced castle). We... more

The hotel is ideally located next to Windsor Castle and surrounding shops, restaurants and attractions, Eton is just a short and pleasant walk away. Hotel is steeped in history and the suite we stayed in was great although looking a little tired in places. Can highly recommend Castellano restaurant (across the road) for a great dinner - be sure to... more

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Windsor and opposite the castle. When we arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon the car park was very busy, but the lovely chap on car parking duty soon found us a parking place when he knew we were residents. The hotel is very old, but beautiful. Our room was very nice and clean,... more
