I stayed here with my family last week in the apartment, 99a and what a gem we have found! After reading a bad review I was skeptical but on arrival we were greeted warmly, and check in was quick and easy, we were given our room key and told where our room was, it was convinitelty out the back of... We didn’t know quite what to expect at the Windsor Trooper, but the location was perfect, and the price was right. We had to call to get the gate opened before we came into the small car park and made our way into the pub, where amidst the beer pumps our check in was accomplished. The first room we were... More

Spent last night in The Windsor Trooper's apartment and to be honest I am at a loss for words to describe just how truly awful the experience was. Absolutely filthy, nothing worked, nothing like the description online, totally over priced to the extent of taking the p*** No reception area, no evident booking in area and no hotel staff to... This is one of the worse hotel i have ever been in my life: First and mainly: Don't come here if you want to sleep! When you book online, nowhere it says that the rooms are in a house adjacent to the pub, where you actually do the check-in. Then once in your room, you enjoy the loud music and... More

Nice and clean . Would definitely stay a again when in Windsor. Only minor fault for me . Was having to order breakfast the day before . Close to all attractions. With easy access to rail links. In Windsor for Xmas if available would stay for the couple of days while there

I stayed here last May for Ascots Ladies day. Hotel/pub is lovely, very quant. Check in was super swift. We had free parking at the rear of the pub. There are a number of rooms at ground level at the back of the pub. The rest are in the main building and we had 3 flights of steep stairs (we... More

We stayed here overnight when visiting our son. We were able to park securely and had a self-catering room although we only wanted bed and breakfast. Had everything you would need except soap and shower gel. It could do with new paint work. Service was good and staff were very helpful. Excellent location for visiting all places of interest and... A lovely very quaint traditional pub set just off the main street of Windsor. Excellent staff, Tony in particular was very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and even had its own wi-fi router so the connection was excellent. The pub offered its own food but we chose to eat at the next door indian restaurant and... More

Overall a very pleasant setting with welcoming staff. Good size, clean room with excellent food for both breakfast and evening meal. Easy walking distance from town centre and castle. Has off road parking in a private car park. A friendly atmosphere and a good choice of real ale. Husband recommends the Windsor Trooper - both ale and B&B!

The Windsor Trooper is a very old pub and the accommodation area was originally stables for passing traffic dating back to the late 1700's. This would help explain the layout of the rooms which was very 'interesting'. Low ceilings and uneven floors added to the character of the B&B. Yes, it is noisy, but using ear plugs solves that problem.... More
