I stayed here last May for Ascots Ladies day. Hotel/pub is lovely, very quant. Check in was super swift. We had free parking at the rear of the pub. There are a number of rooms at ground level at the back of the pub. The rest are in the main building and we had 3 flights of steep stairs (we... More

We stayed here overnight when visiting our son. We were able to park securely and had a self-catering room although we only wanted bed and breakfast. Had everything you would need except soap and shower gel. It could do with new paint work. Service was good and staff were very helpful. Excellent location for visiting all places of interest and... A lovely very quaint traditional pub set just off the main street of Windsor. Excellent staff, Tony in particular was very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and even had its own wi-fi router so the connection was excellent. The pub offered its own food but we chose to eat at the next door indian restaurant and... More

Overall a very pleasant setting with welcoming staff. Good size, clean room with excellent food for both breakfast and evening meal. Easy walking distance from town centre and castle. Has off road parking in a private car park. A friendly atmosphere and a good choice of real ale. Husband recommends the Windsor Trooper - both ale and B&B!

The Windsor Trooper is a very old pub and the accommodation area was originally stables for passing traffic dating back to the late 1700's. This would help explain the layout of the rooms which was very 'interesting'. Low ceilings and uneven floors added to the character of the B&B. Yes, it is noisy, but using ear plugs solves that problem.... More

For people who value peace and quiet- probably not the place for you. On Saturday evening there was loud music coming from the pub. Luckily we're not particularly bothered by noise so it wasn't an issue for us staying. The room was tidy, clean, comfortable... Overall it was a pleasant stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Thank god we stayed only one night in this place. I don't know about the rooms just above the pub as they located us in the backyard building, but if they were any same to ours.. Some could say the design of the rooms is beautifully aged and cosy but to my taste they were kind of worn out and... More

We stayed one night in this town pub, some way from the centre, when visiting friends who lived nearby. The room was clean and tidy but very small, with a similarly small en-suite shower room. Adequate for our needs, but could be too small for a longer stay. The breakfast was excellent - well-cooked, a good quantity and served in... More

Perfect location, minutes walk to town centre. Breakfast very good, nice and filling. We had a room above the pub, top floor, full of character complete with sloping walls and floor, really quaint! Staff really helpful. Thanks for a great trip.
