We stayed overnight at The Old Rectory when we went to a wedding in Salisbury last September, and really loved this accommodation. Our room was beautiful, large and airy with lovely sheets and towels, really thoughtful facilities and a lovely bathroom. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable, and the owner Trish Smith couldn't have been more welcoming but also... More

Our family of four (myself, wife, and young adult children) stayed one night here and had a terrific stay. We arrived on a Sunday, it was "Mum's' day in the UK and we had traveled all day from Paris, thru London to Salisbury by trains. We were tired and hungry and a little bit cranky, but that all evaporated upon... More

I had taken my wife away for a few days of R&R following a serious operation & to celebrate her 70th birthday. The Old Recotroy proved a wonderful gem of a find. The welcome was warm & friendly and Trish, our hostess, proved to be just that, very warm & friendly, for the whole time we were with her. The... More

I had the pleasure of staying at the Old Rectory for three weeks and very much appreciated the kind and warm hospitality of Trish. I had an en suite single which was cosy and warm, with lots of little extras from the usual tea and coffee to bathroom toiletries and even a fridge! The breakfasts were super and there are... More

My husband and I only stayed one night but we had a lovely stay at The Old Rectory. Trish is such a friendly hostess and made time to talk to all of her guests and answer any of their questions. Trish was also very prompt in responding to emails before our stay. The B&B is in a leafy, quiet neighbourhood... More

We all know the feeling: reeling off the plane after a 10 hour ride in pretzel class, grabbing for bags in the Heathrow chaos, stumbling towards transport and bumping along on the wrong side of the road to greet the unknown. We can all thank our lucky stars that at the end of it all was the Old Rectory B&B and... More

Very warm welcome by Trish. Spacious, spotlessly clean & quiet B&B. Would recommend this to anybody, and am looking forward to staying again. Thankyou Trish. More

The Old Rectory provided a calm, quiet and beautifully clean haven for a week spent labouring on an art course. The service, from Trish, was first rate. The breakfast was substantial and the room and bed fine. I slept well. Access to the city centre and cathedral (where my course ran)is good and took 15 minutes at my pensioner walking pace. If needed a taxi... More

Bravo to Trish, a lovely and engaging host. Our journey through Salisbury proved too brief, but she made every hour there a pleasure. Our upstairs room looked out onto her sweet English garden, and the unseasonably warm October 1st was a literal breeze when we opened the windows and heard the birds. Trish's amenities were superb and obviously well-thought. We... More
